I just wanted to say how sorry we are for the loss of a wonderful caring man. Bill always had a smile for us and kind words. I will miss seeing him at Canadian Tire laughing with my mom.

I was shocked and in disbelief to hear the news today. As a coworker and friend I can truly say a great man has left us. I will always remember Bill on my first day working at Canadian Tire. He told me that one of my first jobs in training was to bring him a Tim Hortons coffee. His humour was always a great addition to Canadian Tire. On warm sunny days in June, you could hear Bill up in the tire rack singing christmas carols, or at the back window singing his jingles and other songs.
He was always a happy man, and I’m sure he would love for us to remember all these good and fun times. My condolences to the family for your loss, as we as a family at Canadian Tire have also lost a friend. He will be greatly missed, god bless.

I worked several years with Bill and I can say that there were few persons I know who were kinder, more gentle, and helpful than Bill.

Bill you will be missed by more people than you know.

I knew Bill as a fellow police officer and then we met up again when my wife and I moved to the hills of Mono.

Bill was a rock you could count on to make good decisions as a police officer and a caring and good man who always had a smile and a mischievous sense of humor.

Even though I only bumped into Bill occasionally at Canadian Tire or around town he always had time to chat and we had a common bond as retired officers.

He shared his health problems with me but never complained. I last saw him at breakfast with other retirees a couple of months ago.

He was his usual up beat personality and gave no sign of his health concerns.

I was deeply saddened hearing of Bill’s passing.

I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family.

I will miss Bill – he was part of my culture and exemplified the best in all of us.

I am really sorry that I won’t be able to be there to remember Bill with all of you, but I will at least remind you of the time when I was 18 and living on my own and some how mentioned to Bill that we had to use coffee filters when ran out of toilet paper. Well the next day I came home to find the biggest pack of toilet paper with a lovely note, unsigned of course sitting in the middle of my room. I have no idea how Bill got it there, but it always puts a smile on my face when I think about it.
He was such a wonderful person with a real twinkle in his eye. I think that’s what I’ll remember most.

I worked with Bill back in the early seventies when he first joined Toronto Police, I then moved to the east end of Toronto and we lost contact. I always remember him as a real gentleman and an excellent young police officer. He will be sadly missed, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I will always remember his never ending smile.

I last saw Bill and Karen a couple of weeks ago as I was going in to work. I got to the door first and tried to hold it open for Bill and Karen, but good ol’ Bill, with a big smile, argued that he was going to hold the door and refused to give up until I walked in first. We have suffered a great lost to wonderful co-worker and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

Bill was a good friend and co-worker. He was very thoughtful and considerate of his fellow workers and the public he served as a police officer. I’m sure he is in Heaven cooking breakfast for everyone.

He will be missed and never forgotten.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. I had talked to him only two or three times in the last five years (once on the road)passing your home and the other of course at Canadian Tire. Everyone above has said it all; just sorry I didn’t know of his illness so that I could have had a visit. Perhaps now he and Bob & any others are playing ping pong, darts or euchre together.
I know he will be missed.

I too am saddened to hear that Bill has passed away. We were friends many years ago at Holy Family. It is easy to see from the comments above that Bill hadn’t changed. I can still see his beautiful smile and remember his sense of humour, but most of all his caring ways. It is so sad to lose such a great guy at such an early age.
