William G. Hutchinson of Alliston, formerly of Caledon East and Bolton, passed away peacefully at the family cottage in Port Severn on Friday, November 24th, 2023. Bill was born on February 21st, 1936 in Toronto. He grew up on the family farm in Caledon East. He married the love of his life, Colleen Kidd in 1955. Bill and Colleen built their first home on the 2nd Line of Albion and later planted apple trees to begin Albion Orchards where they raised their three children: Stephanie, Lisa, and Bill. They spent more than 22 years running Albion Orchards, before retiring to Bolton, then Alliston. Bill was an active member of the community. He was a dedicated, loving father and grandfather to each of his children and grandchildren. Bill loved being with family, summers at the cottage, traveling, curling, golfing, charitable works, and the company of friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, generosity, and work ethic. Bill was the beloved husband of Colleen (deceased 2019), devoted father of Stephanie, Lisa (Roger), and Bill (Jasna) and grandfather of Christopher, Bradie, Kate (Geoff), Thomas, Adam (Felicia), Claire (Joakim), and Sarah (Adam).
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Tuesday, December 5th from 12 o’clock until time of funeral service in the chapel at one o’clock.
Following a reception at the funeral home, interment will take place in Providence Cemetery, Innis Lake Road, Caledon.

So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. We were Rotarians with Bill and Coleen for years. Our condolences to all the family.
One of the top 3 gentlemen I’ve even known, I’ve yet to meet the other 2. Bill spoke at our wedding, I fell in love with the man then. Always made an effort to include me in the conversations, and kind enough to asks questions about the things I enjoyed. Lost a treasure here, will miss ya Bill. Say hi to our fathers. So much admiration for his kindness, laugh, wit, involvement in Rotary and the community, apple farming and travelling/tour guide with Aunt Colleen.
So many wonderful memories of hosting the Kidd Christmas, card playing, horseshoes and charades at the cottage, MCing our wedding and making a surprise video for us.

My condolences to all of the Hutchinson family, I hadn’t seen Bill in a number of years, but got updates from Roger and Lisa regularly .
I met Bill through the Rotary Club of Bolton and served on his board the year he was president.
Selfless, and always there with a smile and a helping hand ,many good laugh was had after board meeting, usually held at Bill and Coleens home .

I worked many years with Bill and Colleen at the apple orchard and it was very enjoyable. We had a lot of fun and lots of laughs. What a super couple. I never knew packing apples could be so much fun. Rest In Peace. Together again.
Our deepest condolences to you all on the passing of your sweet Dad. I know my Mom, Pat Mason would definitely love to be there but unfortunately she is not able to get around to well these days. She and my Dad always talked so highly of Uncle Bolti and Aunt Magarite as well as Bill. I actually worked in the apple orchard a few seasons and got to know your Mom better. They were both such pillars of the community, two people you can be very proud to call your parents. The memories you all have will definitely help you through this difficult time.
