Posted By Egan Funeral Home On January 9, 2023 @ 2:42 pm In Bolton Area,Obituaries | 88 Comments
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of William Bible on January 6, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his wife and soulmate, Helen, of 62 years. He was the cherished and loving father of Debbie (Ian Parrish) and Ron (Kim) and the proud grandfather of Nicole & Danielle. William was the eldest son of Alvin and Gladys Bible of Palgrave, dear brother of Dora Green (Barrie) and predeceased by his sister Ina Walker (Calgary) and brothers John (Orangeville) and Jim (Fergus).
William has resided in Nobleton for 60 years and was very active in the community. One of his most notable roles was his time as chairman of the Nobleton Community Recreation Association, where he played a significant role in rebuilding the Nobleton arena and community center. Once built, Bill spent an enjoyable season playing hockey, and his team decided to continue their friendship by playing ball together over the summer. This was the beginning of the men’s slow-pitch baseball in Nobleton, which is still going strong today. As the men began their first baseball season, they became aware of much-needed improvements in the park. Bill was instrumental in implementing various amenities such as extra ball diamonds, bleachers, lights, double tennis courts, pavilions and many trees to enhance the experience for all. Bill always had a passion for giving back to his family, friends and the community he loved and called home for many years.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Friday, January 13, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at noon.

To Helen, Debbie, Ron:
Sorry to hear this news. Bill was such a great guy. Well known and well loved !!
Dear Helen,
So sorry for your loss. You two spent so much time together. It was wonderful to see you walking around town together. I first heard about Bill years ago when Mary Ann Merritt was organizing a Roast Beef dinner as a fundraiser for Nobleton United Church at the W.I./ Nobleton Lion’s Hall. Mary Ann knew that she wanted Bill to carve the meat. We had to wait for confirmation until you got home from Florida. Bill had his own carving set which he looked after and he could carve meat so well and so efficiently, I was amazed. Since then he has carved for the church many times and also for the Christmas Seniors’s dinners hosted by the Nobleton Lions’ Club.
You had told me that Bill was not doing well, but somehow I had thought that he would recover. Condolences to you and your family.
Missing you already Bill.
You have given me many gifts – friendship, advice, help always with my home and
Laughter,
Rest In Peace my friend
Michelina

So sorry to hear about Bill. Bill and Dad (and you and Mom) shared many good times together. Our sympathy to all the family.
Helen (and family): What a lovely tribute to Bill and celebration of his life. Though we have spent a lot of time together in Florida it was nice to hear stories about Bill and the impact he had on each of their lives from your “back home” family and friends. We have loved the visiting, dances, chatting, playing cards, drinking rye and coke as well as playing our weekly golf games – and- we never kept score either. It never mattered how well (or poorly) we played, it was about spending time with good friends, enjoying being outside in the fresh air and getting some exercise. My favourite golf quote from Bill: “You’d have done better if you had putted it” – didn’t matter if I was 50 feet from the green or 200 ft! Bill will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched but missed by no one more than you. We are praying that you feel God’s love and comfort during the difficult days ahead. We are a phone call away. I can hear the “well, I knew you’d be busy”. Call any time. Sending you our love.
