Passed Away May 4, 2026
With broken hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Tina Barberio on Monday, May 4, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Through every challenge she faced, Tina carried herself with incredible strength, grace, and optimism. No matter how difficult the day became, she continued to smile, laugh, and uplift the people around her. Cancer never took away her spirit, her joy, or the light she brought into this world.
Tina was the kind of person who made life brighter simply by being in it. She was loving, nurturing, selfless, caring, strong, humorous, and endlessly kind. Her warmth and energy were impossible to forget. She had a gift for making people feel comfortable, supported, and valued, and she encouraged everyone she met with her positivity and compassionate heart.
Above all, Tina loved being a mother and wife. Her family meant everything to her, and she poured her heart into those she loved. She was deeply devoted to her husband, Giorgio Barberio, and her son, Julian Barberio (Julianna), who were the greatest joys of her life. Tina also leaves behind her loving mother, Huguette Blais; her stepfather, Reg Remillard; her father, Romeo Paquette; and her sisters, Lynn Bouchard (John) and Angie Paquette, along with many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Tina worked hard throughout her life and cared deeply about her community. She always found ways to help others, offer encouragement, and bring happiness wherever she went. Those who knew Tina knew her as someone who never gave up. Even in life’s hardest moments, she remained hopeful and continued to lift others up before herself. Her love, courage, and strength will continue to guide the lives of everyone she touched.
As the song Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix beautifully says:
“She’s walking through the clouds…”
And though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing Tina’s spirit lives on all around us — in every act of kindness, every shared laugh, and every moment of love.
She will now be reunited with her loving aunt Laurette, her uncle Leo, and many other cherished loved ones who have gone before her. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, surrounded by love once more.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) for visitation on Monday, May 11, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Sudbury on Saturday, May 16, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
at Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 Regional Road 15, Chelmsford, Ontario P0M 1L0.

Gio, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Although we met only briefly at Princess Margaret Hospital, Tina was a light in the darkness for Karen and myself. Her energy and optimism in the face of challenges were an inspiration, and your love and devotion to each other were obvious to all. She will be missed. If you need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out.
I’m so deeply saddened with her passing..every word said in her obituary is Tina..she was the kindest person ever..and did absolutely brighten every room. My deepest condolences to George n Julian..rip beautiful girl
