October 4, 1947 – March 15, 2024

Tommi passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 15th, 2024.

She was a devoted and beloved wife to Dennis for over 33 years.

Tommi was the cherished mother of Jeffrey Martin (Lisa) and was loved by Dennis’ children, Julia Finucane (Shaun), Bradley Hayhoe (Heidi), Kevin Hayhoe (Kathryn) and Daniel Hayhoe (Molly).

She was very proud of her ten grandchildren, Lauren, Callum, Nathan, Brennan, Claire, Abigail, Joshua, Trevor, Noah and Josephine.

Tommi was loved and will be fondly remembered by her extended family in Scotland.

Tommi understood that “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23) and was faithful in her belief that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:15.) We are comforted that she is “absent from the body, and present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8.)

Grateful appreciation to Dr. Stephen Reingold for his exceptional treatment and guidance. A special thank you to Dr. Mazzoli and the incredible care team at Hospice Vaughan for their compassion and love.

Funeral service will be held at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. immediately followed by a reception at the funeral home.  Private interment at Nashville Cemetery.

Condolence from Joyce Stankiewicz on March 16th, 2024 6:58 pm

I have lost a dear friend – we connected in the 1970’s and kept in touch over the years!
Having lost my husband and partner last year, I know the void that will never be filled.
I was grateful and Tommi and Dennis visited me when she was still able to travel.

She is now free from pain and able to enjoy heaven!

Blessings, Joyce Stankiewicz

My sincere condolences to Dennis and Jeffrey and their families. Tommi was my roommate in her earlier years in Canada and it was great to have stayed in touch over the years. It was also a privilege to travel to Scotland to meet her family there. She was a wonderful hostess whenever I visited her in her home and she will be missed. It was great to be able to participate in the service from Florida.

Tommi was such an inspiration to us in our meetings with her.
Absolutely classy, smart & compassionate.
A wonderful woman who believed deeply in Our Lord & Saviour.
We were so fortunate to have known her.
May she rest in peace.

Condolence from Gretchen Dillman on March 26th, 2024 10:49 am

Tommi will be missed by so many, but there is comfort knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven. Her faith and love shone through her hospitality which she always extended to me and my children abundantly. She was an example of walking the talk of her faith and we can honor her life by following in those footsteps. Many prayers for her family during this difficult time

Condolence from Antonia (Newman) and Russell on March 26th, 2024 2:49 pm

We have so many happy memories of Tommi who would always welcome us back to Canada with hugs and smiles. Delicious teas at the cottage, boat trips and just always the most kind, interested and generous hostess. It won’t be the same without her and we send so much love to Dennis and all the family. We will be praying for you and are thankful that Tommi is in heaven with her Saviour now. Xx

Condolence from Mrs Christine Robertson on March 26th, 2024 3:15 pm

Dear Dennis, Jeffrey and families,
My thoughts and prayers for you as you come to terms with Tommi’s Homecall. Even as a teenager at Bethany Gospel Hall she was a happy loyal Christian friend whom I missed very much when she chose Canada for her future. Walter and I were so happy to be with you on the 2 occasions we came to stay. It was an honour to have been a friend. For Tommi it’s so so much better being in Paradise with our Lord Jesus whom she loved and served so faithfully . It’s great to know too that we shall be reunited when Our Lord and Saviour comes to call us too. Christine
