Tom attended the University of Toronto and obtained his Certified General Accountant accreditation in 1972 and then in 1992 acquired his certified Fraud Examiners designation. After a distinguished career with the R.C.M.P., Toronto Commercial Crime Section, Staff Sergeant Tom Bell, utilized his experience to establish a second career in the private sector, serving Irving Oil, Canada Post, Ernst and Young, and Paddon & Yorke until his retirement. He loved to vacation in the warm climate and had fond memories of Mexico, Jamaica and Hawaii. Closer to home he loved being at his cottage and on the water to enjoy the sunsets he shared with his family aboard his cruiser on Georgian Bay.

Condolence to Tom’s family. Tom and I worked as partners in the Toronto RCMP Commercial Crime for several years and then when he retired we worked together in our Mississauga Insolvency practice for another period of years. He was a good friend, helper and mentor during our years working together. Always willing to help and go the extra mile. He will be missed.

Tom was a “gentle man” in the true sense of the word.
I worked with him for a short time in CCS…..He was very supportive and accepting of all members.
His kind and gentle spirit will be remembered.
Heartfelt condolences to his family (who spoke beautifully this morning).
