Peacefully called to be with his Lord on Monday, December 13, 2010 with his family by his side, following a brief illness, Tom Overbeek of Orangeville, in his 71st year, beloved husband of Hilda Jonker. Loving father of George, Marion, Carolin and her husband Clarence Kamphuis, Josie and her husband Len Werkman, Neil, Jerome and his wife Char. Fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren, one great-grandson and predeceased by granddaughter Sophia. Lovingly remembered by the Overbeek and Jonker families and many friends.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630) on Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral service will be held in the Canadian Reformed Church, 55 ‘C’ Line, Orangeville on Thursday morning, December 16 at 11 o’clock. Spring interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anchor Association, 361 Thirty Road, Beamsville L0R 1B2 to support people living with special needs. I knew Tom from the very beginning of the Liberation Choir and found him to be very gentle, caring and kind. His voice will be forever missed from our choir but he is now singing with the angels above.
