My deepest sympathies to you Earl and your family. I had the great pleasure of being a fellow Caledon-Easter when we lived on Church Street (now Old Church Road) and working with you years ago when Dave Turner headed up the Trail Committee and you were indeed my hero. I didn’t know Thelma but had the pleasure of meeting her through you and she was indeed a true English lady. Sincerest condolences,

How well I remember Thelma Gunding; secretary (and Jack of all Trades) during my time at Harrison School in Georgetown (1970-74). No task was ever too much for this lady to handle and nothing was left to chance. When Thelma was around; you always knew that the job would be well done; she was well-respected by staff and a friend to all of us Moreover, she had a dry wit and a genuine sense of humour; this was one school secretary whom children and staff really enjoyed!
Best wishes to all the family and – Thanks for everything Thelma; God bless you and, of course (would I dare forget to say it?), God bless the Queen!

As a volunteer at King Nursing Home for 16 yrs I had the great pleasure of knowing Earl and Thelma. Earl you were a wonderful husband to Thelma and I have great respect for the devotion you showed to her in her time at KNH, My deepest symphathy to you and your family

Sue and I were saddened by the news to hear of Thelma’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Earl and all of her family and loved ones. I’ve know Thelma a long, long time and she’ll be remembered fondly for her kindness, warm sense of humour and the wonderful legacy of her loving famiy.

Many years ago we lived next door to Thelma on Byron Street in Georgetown and she was always friendly and helpful to us. Loretta babysat our oldest daughter, Chrysta and Chrysta and Brian played together. We were very sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing and are sure she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

We remembered her fondly many times over the years although we never met again after we moved away.

Our thoughts are with her family on this sad occasion.

Sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing but it is probably better for her. I only just got the message via Holly. Sorry too to hear that you have not been well. You wore yourself out caring for Thelma. I hope you may be able to get rest and proper care now and will recover your health. She was a great person and we enjoyed visiting you both.
