It is with great sadness that the family of Teresa Ann Patricia D’Agostino (nee Plati) announce her passing at age 64, while in hospital on Friday, October 18, 2024 after a long illness.  She will be reunited with her loving husband of 36 years, Franco D’Agostino, who left this world just 3 months ago, on July 16, 2024.  She was a fiercely loyal mother of Rosellen, her beloved daughter-in-love Ashley Broderick, and her chosen son, Jonathan (Jamie) Beram.

Teresa was born on August 28, 1960, in Peterborough, Ontario, to her parents Vincent (1933 – 2020) and Helen Plati.  She was the second of 4 children, and grew up in Scarborough, and Woodbridge.

Protective sister and friend, big sports fan, dog lover, and proud Notre Damian, Teresa was known as “Zeets”, the cool aunt.  She loved her nieces and nephews foremost among all the wild branches of her family tree.  Her door was always open, and her home was the safe space where everyone was accepted without judgement, and where she was mom to so many honorary children.

She lived for authentic Italian food, the Boston Bruins, the Pittsburgh Steelers (of course), Halloween night, having her hair and nails done, The Godfather, any leopard-printed thing, and every bit of music her husband and daughter jammed out.

Teresa is survived by her brother Larry (Gina) Plati, and sisters Donna (Dan) Hilsenteger, and Angela (James) Hay, her sisters-in-law Connie (Tony) Morrone, Linda (Silvio) Couto and brother-in-law Anthony (Catherine) D’Agostino, as well as her many, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

Rosellen and Ashley are eternally grateful the support of their family and friends these past months.  It has been very difficult for them, caring for both Frank and Teresa, right up until the end.  “You know who you are, and we will never forget all that you’ve done for us.”

Family and friends will be received for visitation at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday, October 28 from 2:00 pm until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation are greatly appreciated.

Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Rest in Peace, our dearest Teresa.  May angels lead you in.

Rosellen I am sending you so much love.
I cannot begin to imagine the depth of your compounding grief. My heart goes out to you during this incredibly difficult time.

I like to think that our loved ones become angels, watching over us. As hard as it is, I hope you find solace in the small, quiet moments when their presence feels near. Whether it’s a soft breeze, a gentle light, or a familiar sound or memory. these can be signs that they are still with you, holding you close.

May the love they had for you be a guiding light in the days ahead, and may you find comfort in the memories that live on in your heart.

Tre, always the mama bear.
Always the prayer warrior.
The love and openness that you and Frank always showed to us will never be forgotten. You helped us in ways that will stay with us forever. You left such an impact on all us wayward kids that found our way into your humble abode. Your openness and love will always be cherished. Having created one of our favorite people on the planet is a gift in itself, but your selflessness, your eloquent speech, your amazing story telling will live on. We love you muchly. ❤️❤️❤️

Rosie and Ash, you girls have showed such strength and resilience in the past year. It hasn’t been easy. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed. We love you both and are heartbroken for the two of you. Praying for healing and strength as you get through this together. We love you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

So sorry to hear of both Teresa and Frank’s passing. Some clients leave more of an impression than others. None more than Teresa & Frank. They were larger than life and real “characters”. I chatted with them many times over the years and always had a good laugh with them.

My wife and I send our deepest condolences.

One night me and Ange got to dance and sing along, on the floor at a Springsteen show, all thanks to Zeets.

In our Bolton back yard, early 2000’s, fall time, we had a birthday cake for Teresa, special because her Dad and Larry were in town. We were playing songs, of course. Me and Frank and Dan were talking about this upcoming concert that I had no ticket. Teresa joined in, “oh yeah Jimmy! You love Bruce! We just got a thank-you in the office from some client… nobody wants to go… I’ll see if they’re still up for grabs!”

The next day she knocks on our door and handed over 2 sheets of paper with what looked like tickets printed. “The guy just handed me these last week – I don’t know the dude so don’t know if him or these are for real but worth a shot right!?” Absolutely.

The night of the concert we parked the car and walked up to the ACC looking lost enough for an attendant to offer help, check our pieces of paper, lead us past all the people in line through doors and fancy passages then up a hallway through the rink boards and under the clock at center ice, 50ft from the stage.
Teresa could not have been more excited to get the whole story by phone the next morning. “Those tickets were actually tickets!!? Was it so great??! What did he open with??!…”
Thank you sister
