Stanley Craig, born December 11, 1926, passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2022, one year and three days after his beloved wife, Edna Jean Hutchinson. Father of Allan and Karen, Warren and Maureen, Rick and Vicki. Grandfather of Mark, Lesley, Jackie, Kelly, Breanna, and Connor, and a great grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Allie and 6 older siblings and their spouses Roy and Ruby, Billy John and Dorothy, Margaret and Walter, Alma and Lewis, Ruby and Beattie (Alf), Russell and Freda.

Stan spent his life farming, had a passion for his race horses, and enjoyed riding around the farm on his ATV. He was a kind and gentle man who was an integral part of caring for his late wife, in their home during her final years and was grateful to share 69 years of marriage. The stories he told, his quick wit, and twinkle in his eye will be greatly missed. We find comfort in knowing that Mom and Dad are dancing together again to Crystal Chandelier.

We’d like to thank his doctor and the wonderful ladies of LHIN/Care Partners who aided in the care of both of our parents.

Graveside service will be held at Providence Cemetery, Innis Lake Road, Caledon East on Thursday, September 22 at one o’clock.

As expressions of sympathy donations to Bethell Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Condolence from Judy on September 20th, 2022 8:51 pm

Yes, I see him grinning and saying “say”!
Stan was one of a kind, a gentle man but so wise about all things living.
Also a big part of my family’s life. He put up with us four kids and taught my mom
(a city slicker) to block runaway cows in the field. Our time living on the corner of Stan and Edna’s farm was so very memorable and idyllic. Both are sorely missed and will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. So glad “the sparkle in his eye” was noted…so very true AND THAT GRIN was priceless. Condolences to the families.

To Allan, Warren and Rick and all your families Joan and i send our deepest sympathies on the passing of Uncle Stan. There are so many memories of him and Aunt Edna growing up when I was a kid. So many that are so memorable but I always enjoyed their visits after they had visited Elora Raceway! There was always a twinkle in his eye and they always made me smile and chuckle. Uncle Stan gave me my first snowmobile ride down in the flats on the home farm.
Unfortunately we can not make the service today because of previous commitments. You and your families will certainly be in thoughts and prayers today !
