Condolence from Doreen Young on October 13th, 2012 1:05 pm

To my “third” daughter Kim (and the Stoddard and Jessup families). Although I never had the pleasure of meeting your “Bumps”, I was the recipient of wonderful and humorous stories told by my “first” daughter, and your good friend, Sandy. He was an immensely fortunate husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather because you showed him such respect, love, caring and support throughout his life. It doesn’t get any better than that! Kim, I know he meant the world to you and was so much more than a grandfather. Hugs and kisses to you.

Love Doreen Young

Condolence from Stephen Marquina on October 13th, 2012 4:35 pm

The loss of Dick Diamond is too immense to fully say in words for myself but my prayers and condolences are with Mavis and her family. I just know that he his resting peacefully in heaven reunited with loved ones and watching over all of us with a smile and laughter waiting for us to join him one day. Dick was the best kind of neighbour and human being, I wish to have even a quarter of his love, wisdom, vitality, optimism and generosity. I didn’t know my own grandparents growing up, but Dick and Mavis grew to fulfill that roll and I grew to love them like my own grandparents. For me he was my first grandfather he imparted so many lessons and memories that I will always cherish. I will keep these with me always he affected my life in such an astounding way and I will miss him dearly.

Mavis, we were so sorry to hear that “Spurge” has passed away. Phil introduced us to you and Dick, but I always remember Phil calling him Spurge and that stuck with me. We were pleased to make his acquaintance.
Our condolences to you and your family.

Condolence from Patrick Clancy on October 15th, 2012 2:12 pm

The Clancy family will miss Dick Diamond because he was one of our last remaining links to our late father, Jim. They had a friendship that spanned many decades, working together at Swift’s and Canada Packers in Toronto for over 40 years. Dad and Mr. Diamond spoke on the phone regularly during those years and we all knew who was on the other end of the line because Dad would always be laughing. Three of the four boys in the family worked alongside Mr. Diamond as well, and Gerry and Karen no doubt also have fond memories of visits with Dick and Mavis thorughout the years. We all have a special place in our hearts for “Mr. Diamond” and Mavis and wish her and Sharon strength in the coming weeks and months.
With sincere condolences, Patrick Clancy
