This absolutely lovely lady was full of kindness and generosity. When our Bailey was born she crocheted her a beautiful blanket and matching doll that we cherish to this day.

Please know that we are holding you all in our hearts and thoughts. May your memories of Shirley be a blessing to you always and may she Rest In Peace.

We are so sorry for your loss. Shirley was a dear friend from our school days and was part of our “Hen” party group for many years and we had so many fun times with her. Thinking of all of you at this very difficult time.

I met cousin Shirley only once. It was in 1953 when she was visiting relatives in N Ireland with mother Jean and sister Kathleen. We lived in a terrace house belonging to the local Mill – grey and rather drab, in keeping with the post war depression in Britain. To say that this glamorous, blonde 18-year-old lit up the street would be an understatement. To a nine-year – old boy she was what I imagined a Hollywood film star to look like. Her clothes were straight out of the catalogues uncle Jack (Shirley’s father) posted to us – classy and colourful, and her accent was the real thing! Even in the black and white photos taken at the time she was something else! I’m sorry we didn’t keep in touch and I send my condolences regretfully to the immediate family and to Shirley’s wider circle of friends.
