Condolence from Graeme Patterson on May 17th, 2015 7:24 pm

May I extend my condolences to the Thompson family and friends for their loss of Ross. Approximately forty-three years ago I began my career in teaching. Ross was a tremendous Principal for both the students and the staff. He was a most helpful mentor for me during my initial years in education and throughout my many years of teaching. I frequently applied the guidance and advice that he had offered to me so many years ago. Again, my deepest sympathies for your loss. Best wishes to all.

Ross was my grade 8 teacher and principal at Aloma school. He was very encouraging and made learning enjoyable. I was fortunate to attend his retirement party as my sister was connected to him through working in the Peel Board. My condolences to his family. I will cherish his memory.

Peggy, Nancy, Jennifer, Claire & families:
Harry and I were saddened to learn of Ross’ death and send our deepest sympathy to all his family who were so supportive during his last years. We spent many happy hours visiting with your parents (and at your weddings). When Nancy brought him to Marie’s 90th birthday he looked so happy and had that great big smile for everyone. We will cherish these fond memories.

We’re both so sorry to hear of Ross’ passing. We worked with Ross at Balmoral while he was Principal there. His wonderful and gentle sense of humour always helped to make our jobs fun. Because of the respect and friendship he generated, one tried to do what was right, so that Ross wouldn’t be disappointed in you…student or teacher alike. He enjoyed the achievements of his kids, none more so than his own family. We’re both sorry that we didn’t know about the service in time to attend. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies. We know how much you will miss this truly wonderful man. Good-bye, Ross…xo
