Condolence from Penny Coyle on May 19th, 2022 6:40 am

My condolences to the Barker Family for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
I was fortunate to get to know him over the last few years. One thing that really stood out to me was how much he loved his family and spending time with them. His face would light up talking about his grandkids or great grandkids.
My thoughts and prayers are with you .
Penny

Condolence from Ron Kroesen on May 19th, 2022 8:38 am

The loss of a loved one is always a sad time for the ones left behind. I know that Ross is now at home with the Lord. I pray that this will be a comfort to June, Peter, Lori and the rest of the family. As a Christian, I know, it is a great comfort knowing that we will once again see our loved ones, at the resurrection. My family and I pray that you will be comforted and that the Lord will give you peace, not the worlds peace but the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. He will guard your hearts and your minds and give you peace and comfort. Ron Kroesen and Family

To Aunt June and the whole Ross Barker gang, in particular cousins Peter, Lori, and Philip, thoughts and prayer flood your way from the Yukon.

Uncle Ross was truly a very special uncle. So many great memories. From working together on Berkindell Farms with the Barker Brothers, to being welcomed at the door of Calvary Baptist with his signature smile, laugh and firm handshake, to chatting at “the cut line” on the Parry Sound deer hunt, he made me feel very much a valuable member of the family.

One highlight was playing shinny on his pond with dad, uncles, cousins and friends. Never attempt to get around him with the puck or he will skilfully hip check you into a nearby snow drift. Then laugh.

Our family life was made so much more fulfilled by having Uncle Ross a significant part of it. He was a special gift.

Condolence from John and Barbara Burton on May 23rd, 2022 10:49 pm

It is with much sadness that we heard of Ross’s passing on to be with Our Lord, though happy that he is now free of pain. Our sympathies to June who with us I know will miss that friendly chuckle so familiar to us over the past number of years that we have had the privilege of knowing them. He will be very much missed by us and everyone he came in contact with over the many years he was with us, and it was something very special to have known him.
May God bless June and the family he has temporarily left behind. We’ll meet again one day.

Condolence from Dan & Laura Anthony on May 25th, 2022 2:28 pm

Like many others, we were saddened to hear the news of the recent passing of Ross. We knew him as a man of great faith as was his family and we trust that same faith will sustain all of those who mourn his passing at this time.

June and family,
Our thoughts are with you. My father, Don Barker, remembers the great friendships he had with Ross and the rest of his cousins.
Treasure your memories.

We are so sorry to hear about Ross’s passing but are grateful to hear that he died peacefully. We hope that you all find peace and comfort in knowing that Ross is with his Lord and Saviour in Heaven, where there are no more tears.

He was a very special man who was full of kindness and generousity. I know that we all enjoyed his great sense of humour that put smiles on so many faces.

Dear Barker Family,
We were saddened to learn that Ross had passed. We have fond memories of Ross’s ready smile, warm welcome, and servant’s heart. Ross certainly knew how to rejoice with those rejoicing, and weep with those weeping. May the peace of Christ embrace your family as you remember your time with Ross.

Condolence from Doug Sargeant on May 26th, 2022 10:39 am

A genuine servant of Jesus Christ whose life was marked by humility and generosity,

Condolence from Bill V. Gailitis on May 26th, 2022 7:49 pm

Bill and Marie Gailitis,

The departure to our heavenly eternal home of a friend and brother in Christ, ususally brings mixed feelings for those still remaining in this dimension. So we do not sorrow as those without hope but rather rejoice that one day we will meet Ross and all those who have established their relationship with God. His inspired word tells us that eye has not seen and ear not heard, neither has it entered in the mind of man the things God has prepared for them who love Him. Let’s rejoice that Ross is enjoying all that today, and we can look forward to it as well.

Condolence from Paul and Jane Fabok on May 28th, 2022 10:17 am

The news of Ross’s passing is a shock as well as a time of celebration for a man who fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith!
Throughout my time growing up at Calvary Baptist Church and the having the opportunity of being on the pastoral staff for a time, I will always cherish and remember the great encouragement and kind and generous heart of Ross Barker. To all the Barker family, Jane and I say, we love you all, miss you all and are praying for you as you say goodbye to Ross on this side of heaven and await the day of your reunion with him in heaven. May the peace of Christ and His love for you be your strength and rock at this time and always.
