Condolence from Evelyn Abad Sobremonte on December 11th, 2012 12:13 am

My deepest condolences to David, Chris, & Lianne. We all mourn Rosemary’s loss, but we should also “celebrate” her passing for she has gone to a better place, and we should glorify her in death. For those she has touched, she will be remembered as a warm, lovely, and gracious lady.

Rosemary, we will miss you as an honorary member of the exclusive Sobremonte “purse club”. That special place will be reserved for you alone!

Condolence from Christopher Moray Watkins on December 20th, 2012 2:26 pm

My first and favorite bedtime story was how they adopted me even though they had no plans to adopt another child . Back then they had to market babies as there was no waiting list. That was my mom .

Before I was 14, my mom had taken me to my first movie, what’s up doc with Barbara Streisand in downtown Beaufort South Carolina , my first play that was the sound of music in savannah Georgia with julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer , in charleston we went to the Ringling brothers barnham and bailey circus , and she also took us to the Harlem globe trotters. Where i learned the theme song was sweet georgy brown. That was my mom

When I wanted Levi’s jeans she gave me the money for tough skins from sears and said here you go. When I wanted a $60 skateboard she gave me $30 and said here you go. That was my mom.

I could always talk to her and I mostly told her the truth , well more than my other friends did with their moms. She also let me work off my being grounded time. That was my mom.

She hated cooking but always did it anyway and it was usually very good. I was a picky eater back then, so a lot of milkshakes with egg in them instead of the dinner i refused to eat? And as I got older and was late or missed a meal ! I had to make my own, that is why now I love to cook. That was my mom.

Whenever she went to one of my sporting events, she always cheered for a good play, no matter which team . I would come home late at night after being out with friends and rest my head in her lap and we would talk about my nite as she stroked my hair. She loved me no matter what trouble i had gotten into. That was my mom

Every year on the third Saturday of November she would always watch Florida versus Florida state college football With me , even though she had no idea what was going on, but we still had fun every year. That was my mom

As she got older she would always recognize my voice when I called and said ” hello darling” and she would listen to all my stories after asking “what city or country are you calling from this time”. That was my mom.

Mom, I will miss you much my darling

Our sincere condolences to Dr. Watkins, Lianne, Chris and their families. Being a friend of Chris’, I know how he feels about his mother. He always describes her as a beautiful person, inside and out. He mentions many fond memories of his mom. She was a fun and loving ( and very tolerant, from what I’m told) woman whom I wish I could have had the pleasure of knowing.

With Love,
Lisa, David, Abbie, and Allie

Condolence from Richard Grimball on March 14th, 2013 5:11 pm

Chris,
Many prayers for you, your sister, your dad, and your family. I remember fondly how your mother was such a gracious host. When I visited your home in Beaufort, she was always doting on us as we enjoyed so much being away from school. It has been such a long time since we have connected, and please know that you and your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers. With peace and prayers, Richard
