Whenever I think of Ron I have to smile, he always made me laugh and I will remember his version of Jake the Peg with his extra leg. It is a very sad day and I know he will be sadly missed by everybody who knew him. He was a great uncle. If I see a glass of Guinness I will remember him.

We were very saddened to learn that Ron had died.
We will remember him fondly on the many occasions that we were all together – partying of course! Yes, Jake the Peg was one of his favourite, and funniest acts.
Ron was a dedicated business man who worked tirelessly for the company and, although retired, will be sorely missed by so many.

I got to know Ron more last Jan, when I stayed we Robert and Gail at a very sad time we lost my sister, I rember coming home all the days we were out making plans coming back Ron was right there to welcomes us ” what would you girls like ” always trying to make us feel better, Val I’m so very sorry for your loss, Gail,Robert, and family, we all are so sad.R..I.P. Yesterday I was both sad, shocked and sorry to hear of Ron’s death . Friends since 1966, Ron and Val, my husband Frank and I had shared so much in our lives together. It did not seem possible that Ron could be gone.
To me he was like a brother, and was very dear. Frank , now deceased, thought the world of Ron, too. Such good mates. They are probably together right now, having a heavenly pint and sharing some joke. Great guys from the old school.
My thoughts are with Val, Gail and Yvette , and their husbands and daughters, Ron was a man in a million, and everyone who knew him, loved him. A good man, a gentleman, someone to be proud of for all he achieved in life. he and his much-loved family.
You will always be remembered with love and respect, RIP Ron. Auj

R.I.P. to my favourite brother-in-law and as Ron would often say my only brother-in-law! He was the only person who ever used my full name-but only to annoy me! Ron was always the life and soul of the party but for behind all the jokes was a knd,considerate and generous man.
He knew when you had made a special effort and tried to please and always praised you. He complemented you on your appearance and made you feel good. And if you needed anything Ron would say ‘I’ll see you right’ -and he would.
Ron wouldn’t want us to be sad so to make me smile I will think of him at the Pearly Gates telling the ‘foot foot’ joke-just one more time!

Ron was unique and had the ability to bring a smile to everyone that he met. He was a wonderful uncle, and he leaves us all with so many happy memories. We will never forget his wonderful hospitality and barbecues around the pool, his never ending jokes, and the close attachment he had with his family back here in England. Ron never forgot his roots and always asked about the football team in Coventry, and the well being of Broadstreet Old Boys rugby club. Our deepest condolences go to Auntie Val and all of the family at this sad time. God bless.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. He was very special and someone I thought the world of. I had the pleasure of working with Ron for over 25 years. He was someone I looked up to and admired and he was a wonderful boss. Val and family my thoughts are with you and I hope it gives you some comfort to know how much Ron was admired and thought of by all his many friends. I was saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. We spent many hours of sports over the years, and he is still spoken of when I meet old comrades during social sports. We had some great moments and some wonderful laughs. My thoughts are with you Val God bless.

As I look out at the mountains today, I think of my Uncle Ron flying high, up in heaven, telling his jokes over and over and over again….I always looked forward to the big hug I got from him when I returned home from Banff. To this day, Chuck never could understand a word Ron said, due to his strong English accent, but he’d laugh with him just the same. How could you not!!! Uncle Ron was a wonderful part of the McNeill clan and he will be missed. Val, Yvette and Gail, and family, my heart goes out to you all. We will all miss Ron’s visits back to Coventry. He always made us laugh with his stories; he just had a certain way of telling them which had to make you smile. We’ll also miss our betting pal. On one visit, he had to choose between going round Warwick castle with Val or going to Warwick races with the lads. You know his choice!
Although we can’t be at the funeral, our thoughts will be with Val and the rest of the family and we’ll be raising a glass of Guinness as a fond farewell to a special uncle.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. Madeline and I offer our heartfelt condolences to Val and family. I am so sorry that we will be unable to attend the funeral but I am currently tethered to a bed in hospital. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow in our absence.
Ron has been a part of my workplace family since I started at Heading Sales so many years ago. In that time he has been a friend, mentor and surrogate father to me and I will miss his presence greatly.

Ron’s sense of humour was only matched by his generosity. The concern Ron showed for those who worked for him and with him set a standard few attain. I will never forget our raucous lunches at The Toby and Ron’s parting cheery ” good on ya team”. Ginnie and I shared some wonderful New Years eves with Val and Ron before moving to Quebec. Ron will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Our thoughts are with Val and the family.

Ron’s Send off was done very well today. Last night I was sharing with a friend about Ron & Val. Remember that couple’s place we went to , to pick up a load of furniture for a kid that had a real need. Their first apartment & no furniture. Well Ron & Val practically furnished her whole place when they were down sizing. My friend said , Yes I remember them , They were very generous. Through the years we might of had a few head ons but through it all I believe we developed a good friendship. I’ve missed him quite a bit since he chose to retire.His personality & singing brought atmosphere in the shop. He was great to work with & I know I speak for us all at Heading that he will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with you. Ron & Eileen

Having read the list of condolences from a wide range of Rons friends and family and so many times trying to write my thoughts of what Ron meant to me personally. Its taken me 8 months, and I still have difficulty accepting he has gone.

He was my best friend for 60 years and his humour and his genuine enjoyment of life and other people was so special.
The comments in the list of condolences says everything about him so much better than I could. Not a day goes by that something reminds me of him.
So from the first time we met in Broad Street Rugby Club 1954 and last time I saw him when I came over to Bolton
in October 2014. I have always counted my blessings of Ron my best friend first, and business partner second,
Always in my thoughts always will be.

Take care of him up there he just maybe” Henry the 8 th” I am.
