MEMORIES OF ROBERT McLEAN,

My earliest memories of Robert McLean would take me back to when I was about thirteen years of age; around 1956.

Bob was one of a group of young men at West Toronto Gospel Hall. These young brethren fellowshipped together, meeting together for prayer, for tract distribution and other related activities. As a younger believer I highly respected those young men and looked up to them.

Bob was often a guest in my parents home along with others. I believe he may have taught a Sunday School class
at Rexdale in the Elm lea Junior School before the Gospel Hall was built.

Bob never owned an automobile, however, he did own a bicycle of which he was very proud. It wasn’t any old bicycle. It was a “Raleigh” made in England. To Bob, that bike was far superior to owning a car.

Bob’s greatest desire was to live for God and to please God in every way possible. Whenever I visited him at Bethany he always requested prayer. He wanted more than anything else that the Lord would take him home.

Finally, Bob’s prayers have been answered. He is absent from the body and present with his Lord whom he loved and served.
