Condolence from Carmen, Nancy Salerno and Family on July 5th, 2010 10:52 pm

There are no words to express our sincere sadness. Everything I think of writing seems totally inadequate to capture our profound sense of loss. It just seems so unfair, unjust to have him taken away so young, with so much more to give.

Rob always seemed so invincible. Everything he did, he did with purpose. He always knew what he wanted and regardless of the challenges and obstacles, he managed to push through everything that life threw at him. He was brash, he was bold, he was stubborn, he told you like it is and he made no apologies. Rob was just being Rob and for that we were thankful because sometimes you needed the stark truth and not some sugar-candied version. While he could be tough, he also had a really tender side; he was caring, compassionate, loving; fiercely devoted to his family. If you were his friend, his loyalty was unwavering; you could always count on Rob to watch your back.

I have so many fond recollections, so many moments crystallized in my mind, too many to share. When you grow up with someone, you get to see it all. From boy to man, Rob accomplished so much in life and he always did it with a sense of humour. Even in the darkest times, he was always ready with a wry comment, something that would break the moment and make us laugh. It’s hard to smile right now but I know in Rob’s way, he would want us to try and find something to help lighten the moment, to try and diminish the pain.

I am proud to say that Rob was my friend. He was my best man, someone I trusted, respected and looked up to. You will be missed, my friend.

Pat, please know that we are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time and we are here to provide any support that you need.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I know words seem meaningless at this time but as you look back I hope you will find comfort in knowing that Rob was greatly respected and loved by so many people. It was a pleasure to work with Rob at 23 Division. After taking the position on our Association I know that it was a very stressful and busy time for him. The members knew that Rob would fight to the end for them if it was deserved. His contagious smile will most definately be missed.

To Pat and the girls,

We were so upset to hear about Rob. It seems like only yesterday we played golf together. Rob was a good man and though I only talked to him a few times a year it never seemed like we were ever long apart. I don’t know what to say to express our sorrow and wish we could be there to offer some comfort or kind words but we are away in Scotland. Know that we are thinking of you and if we can do anything for you please let me know!

Darryl and Valerie Cooper & family.

I am the Executive Assistant to Civilian Services at the TPA and I will greatly miss Rob’s big smile as he wished me a ‘good morning, Di’ every day and hearing his laughter in the office. My deepest sympathies to the Correa family – Rob will be sadly missed.
