We will forever remember Peter’s warm welcome each time we arrived at Oliver House. He was always ready with a big smile and with facts to share… He enthusiastically participated in our Christmas plays over the years – always ready to immerse himself in his particular role… Whether it was a bingo game or a ball toss, he was an enthusiastic participant. He will be greatly missed by us all…

I am saddened to hear of Peter’s passing so suddenly. His smile, warm welcome, daily updates and stories will always be remembered! May his friends and family know that our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

Church service was beautiful, handing out flowers then going around to put them on the vases was even more beautiful, it made me feel included during service.

Peter was always smiling , calling you by your name, he will also show me his newspaper & gossip magazine.
Peter was always on time waiting for his bus, didn’t want to missed pick up time, he made me laugh.

I will miss Peter a lot. I work for CMHA and not in a social work capacity but I spoke with Peter almost every day he was here at our offices. He was always friendly and kind whenever I saw him and we would stop for a quick chat about the magazine he had bought or some recent events. He always brought a smile to my face and I’m very sorry he won’t be doing so any more. I would like to extend my condolences to all who loved Peter and will miss him and that I share in their loss.

Peter was a very special person always ready with a kind word for everyone. He could make you smile on your worst day with a funny story from Caledon, an update on his family and/or by ensuring we were up to date on any breaking news story. Peter never forgot a name or face and made you feel special by remembering all details shared in previous conversations. Peter you were a ray of sunshine and the world is a little less bright without you in it. Please accept my condolences to all who loved him and may you rest in peace.

Peter had the warmest heart, free to give a kindness every morning and willing to engage with all people. He was truly an angel and brought me to smile when I saw him.

My condolences to Peter’s family and friends. I was very sad to learn of Peter’s passing and I will miss him dearly.
I work at CMHA Peel Dufferin, in the Administrative office, and I always enjoyed speaking with Peter. He always had a big smile and was always happy. He shared the newspaper and magazine top stories and had an amazing memory. He spoke of his family members fondly and always mentioned them. Peter was always cheerful and had a way of making me smile and making my day. I will miss Peter and the chats we shared. You left us too soon Peter, I will miss you.

Peter had a wonderful way of touching people’s hearts. A pure soul and a friendly spirit, who brightened our day. Peter I miss you. You shared history with me, you taught me more about Elvis and we chatted about music, movies and celebrities from you magazines. You never failed to amaze me! You always asked about my family. And oh Peter, you were so good at remembering names and faces!
I miss your voice and laugh as I walk down the hallway at Community Door.

Peter was a good person who was friendly to all with a great sense of humour and an impressive memory. We could learn a lot by being as open with others as he was. It feels like the world is an emptier place without him and I will think of him often.

I was also saddened by the sudden loss of Peter. He had a remarkable memory and was always keen to greet me and others and share the news stories of the day. He took a personal interest in my life and after meeting my youngest son he always asked about him, confirmed what grade he was in and asked how he was doing in school. Upon leaving our conversation Peter would often say “you are a good man, Frank”. I would return the compliment and then go on with my day feeling a little bit better about myself. Peter had that effect on people. The halls are a bit quieter now and there is a void left in the lobby of the building . Safe journey, Peter, you left your mark.

I can’t think of another person that deserves to rest in peace quite like you do. I had not seen you since Christmas of 2006 unfortunately but i was always at ease knowing you had a place like Oliver house to live. I have many memories of you at Christmas when you were so generous with the presents. I still have the hockey card complete set from 1990-1991! Yep God bless you Uncle Peter. You will be forever missed by me but heaven has gained another angel.love your nephew Mike Joensuu.
