Sincere condolences to your family Brenda. You won’t know a lot of Pauls clients and friends, but he was our mechanic for years. The Livingstons farmed next to Bruce and his family all of their lives and he informed me tonight and felt bad that Paul had to suffer with the dreaded disease of cancer.
Bruce, (my late husband in 2010) Rick & Bryan (my sons) sure relied on Paul’s expertise with their machinery–lots of gossip–or should I say, information, was discussed. He always had a wave or a hello when I’d venture in the vicinity.

Please accept our sincere sympathies for the loss of your brother Paul. Paul was a great friend to John for over 25 years and a friend to me for the past 10 or so. The boys had some great sledding experiences and laughs over the years! John always laughed about when Paul forgot his gloves so he wore socks on his hands. He said he “would rather look stupid than look cold”! !. That was Paul! Highly skilled mechanic, funny, had a Hello for everyone, good for getting the “local news”. What a great loss!

Thinking of your family at this sad time. I got to know Paul a couple of years ago through the Peel-Dufferin Plowmen’s Association. We were very fortunate to have Paul as a Director on the Association, and his commitment to the Plowing Match (and plowing of course!). He will be missed by many in the Community. Paul had a heart of gold and a gift for bringing many an idle machine to life. I’m reminded of Ted Potter who would pass on more information than anything. Paul though would regale how he figured it out, and got them going again. Happy sledding Paul.

TO PAULS family A great loss to you as well to our community always a great story teller usually JOHN DEER related a true MASSEY MAN and CASE man to the end . On the many sled trips Paul would always run on the tail making sure everyone was still together. Although you are gone you touched us all with your stories and our memories of you will always be with us . Ride well my friend.

Paul was truly a unique individual.
I got to know Paul at the Innis Farm where he was a frequent visitor and participant in the weekly card night.
Our “Deaner” invariably had something of interest or amusement to pass along : whether it was about his latest mechanical challenge overcome, agricultural / community news or just observations on the world , life was never dull when Deaner was around.
He never ceased to amaze us with his lexicon – had us scrambling frequently to confirm the existence of some of the unique phrases he came up with LOL.

Paul you left us far to soon – no one expected to be without you and your unique contribution to our lives so soon.

Paul had many a nickname, main ones being Mad Dog and Deaner. He loved being surrounded by his friends, and sharing his wisdom.
He had a close friendship with my husband, Matthew and Kirk Neelands. Paul himself, nicknamed their friendship, The Rat Pack.
Paul was a constant visitor in the shop at Innis Glen Farm, bantering with all the guys, sharing stories and benchracing his sled. He would get a special gleam in his eye when there was a topic of interest being debated.

Paul was a special guy, with a big heart and even bigger hands for helping those he needed it. Paul will be sadly missed, but remembered forever with love and great memories.
