Suddenly at home in Oakville on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Patricia Marie Ainsley (nee Bogue), in her 84th year, beloved wife of the late Bertram Ainsley. Cherished mother of Lee-Ann O’Leary (late Nick Kotsos), Theresa Ainsley (Bill Kersey), Diane Edgar (Bill Badalato), late Bertram Ainsley, and late Robert Ainsley (Dianne). Treasured grandmother of Meagan, Erin, Wade, Katie, Kelli, Cooper, Rachel, Kyle, Colin, and Ryan. Loved great-grandmother of James, Dawson, Jack, Regan, and Kellen.

At 17 years old, Patricia met a young soldier returning from Korea. Bertram and Patricia were married and soon had five young children. Growing up in Toronto, Patricia was a city girl at heart, but when she moved with her family, she came to embrace country living. As a mother, she created a home that was welcoming to all and a hub for family and friends to gather and enjoy. Patricia was an avid reader, always with a book in her purse, and skilled at even the most challenging crosswords. After her children were raised, Patricia went to college to further her education and attain qualifications to help others as an addictions counsellor. She had a long career, working well into her 70s, that included early work in offices and sales, and later in addictions services, where she was able to help so many people through her compassion and non-judgmental nature. Patricia was an aunt to many nieces and nephews and loved sharing family stories with them. Patricia was also a beloved and supportive Nana who had a twinkle in her eyes in the presence of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren as they brought her such joy. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Private family service will be held at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Place Centre (hopeplacecentres.org) would be graciously accepted. Hope Place Centre is an addiction and trauma treatment program.

Condolences for the family of “Patricia Marie Ainsley”

Condolence from Karen Ceschia on December 6th, 2022 11:35 am

Lee-Ann, Terry and Diane, I am so saddened to hear this news. Aunt Pat was always the life of the party and shared a great sense of humour. She was a storyteller and I loved hearing her tell the stories of our mother’s and her younger years with our fathers. I still have very fond memories of all our summer vacations at Golden Lake and the escapades of our parents. I also remember a trip to Las Vegas with your mom and all the fun that we had. I am sad that we didn’t reconnect with Aunt Pat before her passing. My condolences to all of you. She has left you with many, many cherished memories I am sure.
Love to you all.
Karen Ceschia

Dear Lee-Ann, Theresa, Diane and families my condolences on the passing of your Mum. I met your Mum when she lived in Milton. There were many coffees shared talking about books, life and the most important people in her life which were you and your children. She was so proud of each of you. Always a twinkle in her and such laughter.

Condolence from Lynda Smith on December 8th, 2022 2:17 pm

Lee-Ann, Terry and Diane and families…I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I remember when I was about 11 or 12 when your mom and dad and Frank and Marlene came up to our farm in Innisfil. The boys went out to help my dad bring in the hay and your mom and Aunt Marlene got out my record player…yes record player, and began dancing to Chubby Checker The Twist.
We were all so young then. Life was going to be forever.
May God bless and keep you all.
