Patti‘s vibrant personality and her love for the extraordinary reflected in all she did. Her bright smile was bestowed on everyone. It has been a privilege to have had her as my sister-in-law! Patti has left a huge gaping hole in our family!

Patti was adored by our Organization, Caledon Community Services. She was a regular and much-loved volunteer at the Exchange and lit up the place at the reception desk, in the kitchen, you name it. She had a warm smile and kind word for everyone that dropped in. People knew upon talking with Patti that they had come to the right place.

I had an evening with Patti last year where we poured wine together at CCS’ booth during the Palgrave Rotary Wines of the World event. We had three or four wines to offer guests, we spent the evening sipping and debating which one was best. We sipped a lot! We also talked a lot, we had five or six hours together with people who were enjoying lots of wine! It was one of the most memorable events I’ve had in Caledon, largely due to my company. We shared lots of stories and in particular we talked about our children a lot. Patti told me about her “admiration” for her daughter, told me exactly why. My kids are a bit younger. I left the evening driving home thinking about admiring my kids as a parent, it felt right and it felt like she taught me something. Patti left an indelible impression on that evening. I’m a regular in the Exchange, Patti was usually there on Tuesdays and I always made it a point to find my way there to talk a bit. She warmed my soul, she inspired me to do good work, she was an absolutely lovely woman.

It was heart-breakingly sad to hear that beautiful Patti had passed. She was an absolute delight to be around. Playing euchre together, Patti always had her quirky smile ready whenever a clever play was made. She could be so damn funny!

I loved listening to Patti talk about Christa. She adored her daughter and was very proud and supportive of the decisions she made. In one conversation Patti shared how much she admired Christa’s courage. Wow. That was one spectacular mother-daughter relationship.

So very saddened to hear of Patti’s death. I met Patti at Xerox and always enjoyed my friendship and interactions with this lovely work colleague. My deepest sympathy and prayers.

Patti came into my life with her signature smile when I was transferred to Xerox Airport Park in Mississauga in 1981 as a Customer Admin Manager. She taught me a lot, and we had so much fun. We became close friends. She sparked my interest in golf and also introduced me to the only cologne I have ever worn since – always think of her when I put it on. There is a big hole in the universe without Patti. My condolences to all – in particular Christa whom I met a couple of times many years ago.

Patti was my service manager at Xerox in the early nineties. She ran a tight ship and everyone respected her guidance and fairness.
She organized many company functions and weekend get togethers with her service teams that were always fun and well organized.
On a personal note, I had twin boys with health issues and she was always there to provide whatever assistance I needed to balance my work and home life.
A fine person, she will be missed.

Patti hired me into Xerox many, many years ago. It was my first corporate job and I stayed for 12 years. I remember her well – so funny and smart. Always with a twinkle in her eye and ready for some fun. I was sad to read this news and send virtual hugs to her family.

Rest In Peace Aunt Patti. Thank you for being such a big part of my life, sharing in so many memories and being so supportive all the way through. Your sweet giggle will always echo in my heart. I remember the first time we met when I was about 7 years old. I thought you were so special. Riding in the limo with you, Christa and your friends on your beautiful wedding day is one of my most cherished childhood memories. Another Wiley daughter gone too soon.

I have been a Wiley family friend for almost 50 years and was honoured to give the eulogy at both her mother Pat’s and father Gordie’s funerals. Patti was my favourite of the Wiley girls. I saw her often at the many Wiley family occasions I was kindly invited to, at Drew’s many parties and dinner parties and at the yearly parties I used to throw when I lived in the city. She was a big help to Drew when her parents needed looking in on and looking after. She took understandable pride in her trim appearance, her work accomplishments, in her daughter Christa and in her wonderful marriage to Frank.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. My sympathies go out to Frank, Christa, and her family and friends.
