Condolence from Doug Townley on October 31st, 2013 8:47 pm

Good bye Uncle Norm. You were so many things to me, not just an Uncle but a mentor, friend, guidance counselor, father after mine passed away, story teller and most of all creator and sharer of a billion stories that will remain with me for the remainder of my life. You fabricated my first “race car”, the yellow Jeep styled pedal car with the red number 3 and ‘Driver- Dougie’ on the hood and gave it to me for my 3rd birthday. You introduced me to “Mini-Bricks” and showed me how to build a house with them. You taught me about gardening, construction, relationships, repairing things and so much more. You gave me many opportunities, one being the chance to not only ride in but drive 6218 the last of the great Canadian steam engines. I guess much of that sunk in, I took you for a ride in a couple of cars I built from the ground up, I took you for a flight after I got my pilots licence, and most of all I got to show you how much I could be like you in raising wonderful children and helping people through times of trouble or happiness. I have never forgotten anything and hope to continue to pass it on to my children and grand-children. I love you and always will. Rest in peace my friend.

Dearest Joy & Family

You have been through a great deal these past few months and my thoughts and prayers are with you now. I remember Norm as a man with a great sense of humour and who loved his family and had a soft spot for all animals. I remember seeing him walking his various dogs around Kleinburg and seemed so happy. My heart is full of sorrow for your loss. Look after each other.

Gregg and Family
So sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Its but two short years since you were with us during Gary’s passing. I hope you are blessed with those who will support you the way you did for us in our time of loss. Since I never had the opportunity to meet your Dad, all I can say is he must have been an exceptionally fine man as is evidence of how you are, Gregg. God bless you and your family.
