We are saddened by Nayda’s passing. She will be greatly missed especially at family gatherings. Her words of wisdom and support were always welcomed and valued. One of Michael’s fondests memories of Nayda was the day she lent him her red Acadian to travel to the East Coast, on his first road trip.

We are very sad to hear of Nadya’s passing. She will be missed by all of us. She will be especially missed by me over Christmas, during the gift stealing game she would usually end up with her favorite decorative snowman.

I knew Nadya as a fellow teacher at Ellwood Memorial P.S. Her gentle and caring manner was encouraging to her many lucky students. She was one of several competent, dedicated and experienced teachers whom I looked up to as role models when I started teaching and I feel privileged to have known her. Her love for her family was very evident as well and I extend my sincere condolences to all of you in your loss.

Condolence from Gail Tompsett & Gillian Sanye on January 19th, 2021 11:50 am

It was with a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of my Aunt Nadya. Some of my fondest memories of time spent with her go back to when I was just a child and we had adjacent cottages on Lake Temagami. That was when I first began to realize what a truly remarkable woman she was. When I got married she gave me one of her amazing hand painted eggs and when my daughter, Gillian, got married I passed it on to her. It is now proudly displayed in Gillian’s dining room hutch. Aunt Nadya was such an inspiration to so many young people and I know she will be sadly missed by everyone whose life she touched. Our sincere condolences to the whole family and especially to Andrea, Stephen and Greg who have lost not only their Mom but also their best friend.

Condolence from Patricia L Bennett on January 25th, 2021 5:26 pm

I meet Nadya at the Bolton MS Group years ago for Yoga and “swimming”. She welcomed me in and always had a kind word and a twinkle in her eye! We bonded over teaching and our love of books. I had the pleasure of meeting her family at a birthday party that was held for her. She was SO PROUD of all her children and at the time was looking forward to her daugher have her baby. I will remember her with such fondness, she was a wonderful person and will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss.
