Peacefully at Dufferin Oaks, Shelburne, on Saturday, January 11, 2014, Murray Allen of Orangeville, in his 88th year, beloved husband of the late Marjorie Rawn (2012). Dear son of the late Annie (nee Aikins) and Addison Allen. Survived by his brother Harold. Murray will be fondly remembered by Phyllis and Larry Hilliard, Bruce and Pauline McKenna, Jack and Marilyn McKenna, Lewis McKenna, his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers and sisters Edmund (Ed), Elwood, Donald, Orville, Grenville, Ken, Rhoda Hunter and Ruby Potter.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519 941-2630) Thursday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock and on Friday, January 17 in St John’s Church, 3907 Hwy 9 (east of Orangeville), from 12 o’clock until time of funeral service at one o’clock. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, Orangeville. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Church, 3907 Hwy 9, Caledon L7K 0G7. We were very sad to hear that Murray had passed away. We have many memories of Murray and Marjorie coming in to our store for some milk or the paper. We enjoyed their friendship over the years, and missed them when they moved from their home on Townline. We know they are together again and that must bring such comfort to all of their loved ones. Heartfelt condolences with the loss of Murray. Hendrix worked with Murray for a number of years and enjoyed going for coffee with him on Saturday mornings for many years. We will miss his cheerful nature. May The Lord comfort and strengthen you all!
Murray was a lifetime Orangeville person always steady and quick with a smile. Rest in peace. You have quietly touched many.
Murray was a kind and loving person always with a ready smile.
Over the years I had many talks with him and always enjoyed my time spent with him. Rest easy my friend you’ve earned it.
