I just heard of Muriel’s passing and I wanted to send my sincere condolences to the family. I taught with Muriel at Caledon East and learned a lot from her. She is fondly remembered.

So sorry to hear of Muriel’s passing. We knew and respected her dearly as a school teacher and a great friend from Caledon East. Our condolences to the family.

My condolences on the passing of your mother. She was a great friend. We enjoyed many outings together especially to the retired teacher’s meetings. She lived a long life, considering she had many health problems. She will be missed.

Both my sons were lovingly taught by “Mrs. McLeod” in the ’70’s. She will always be fondly remembered by us. She lived her life well and her students were fortunate to have her in their lives. My deepest sympathy to the whole family.

Lise, I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I know she touched many, many lives in the community and her positive influence will be felt for years to come. I remember her to be gentle and caring, and visiting your home was always a pleasure. My heart aches whenever I drive by the 5th line house. My thoughts are with you.

Mrs. McLeod was my grade two teacher, and fellow church member of the United Church in Caledon East. She was a wonderful teacher and a warm and genuine lady. She will always be fondly remembered in my mind and heart. My condolences to the entire McLeod family.

I am so terribly sad to hear of Muriel passing. She was a dear neighbour and friend…and a treasured member of our collective “fifth line east” family. Hi Margo, I heard about your Mom, from afar & am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your Mom as a very sweet, kind Lady. She was always genuinely interested in people, no matter their age. Muriel was my Grade 2 teacher and neighbour on the 5th line.
She helped begin my live of books reading the
SRA reading cards :). I used to visit once
in awhile to ride Kajet the chestnut horse
who was always in his front pasture.
So sad to hear of her passing, my Mom and
I got to have a great visit with her when I
was down from out West visiting. I bet she’d
love to hear that some of us remained in
farming for a living – we are in Huron County
with 300 Holsteins and new milking robots.
She passed on her strong values of a good
education, respect, hard work and enjoyment

Margo, I had great respect for you mom through teaching. In the early years of my teaching career, I would see her at workshops and conferences and she was always such a wonderful role model, informative, helpful, and with a sense of humour. May your memories help ease the pain at your loss.
