Condolence from Heather Ritzema (Moffatt) on February 15th, 2014 8:02 pm

Muriel was my Grade 2 teacher and neighbour on the 5th line.
She helped begin my live of books reading the
SRA reading cards :). I used to visit once
in awhile to ride Kajet the chestnut horse
who was always in his front pasture.
So sad to hear of her passing, my Mom and
I got to have a great visit with her when I
was down from out West visiting. I bet she’d
love to hear that some of us remained in
farming for a living – we are in Huron County
with 300 Holsteins and new milking robots.
She passed on her strong values of a good
education, respect, hard work and enjoyment
of people – condolences to the whole family,
Sincerely, Heather Ritzema nee Moffatt
from 17600 5th Line East

I was in Grade 8 when I moved to Caledon East so I didn’t have Muriel as a teacher but I remember a fine lady with a warm smile and a kind, gentle nature. My Mother thought a lot of her and as the school nurse she knew Muriel better than I. Joan Leighton (Regina, Sk)
