Michael Louis Podrebarac, 31-year resident of Caledon, Ontario, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 17, 2024. Michael (Mike) was born November 2, 1946, the eldest child of Mary (Cunko) and Louis Podrebarac in Welland, Ontario. He was a graduate of Waterloo (Bachelors in Mathematics, and M.A.Sc and PHD in Mathematics and Management Sciences) and that was where he met his future beloved wife, Mary. Mike worked for Nortel as Director of Technology in Caledon and London, Ontario (1976-1990) and as Manager of Designed Precision Castings (1991-2014) in Brampton, Ontario. After retiring, he discovered the joys of travel, golf, puttering in the garden, and solving NYT crossword puzzles by the pool.
He is survived by his mother Mary, siblings Rick (Liz) Podrebarac and Nancy (Richard) Chehowski, by his wife of 47 years Mary, well-loved children Andrea (Jon) Williamson, Michael Podrebarac, and Robin (Chris) Renwick, and grandchildren Christian, J.P., Emma, and Oliver, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday, May 23 from 2 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 3 o’clock, followed by a reception at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. He will be remembered in our hearts. Mike, or Puttsy as we lovingly call him, was very special to us. You and he were instrumental in keeping our Waterloo gang together for over fifty years. We have many fond memories of our weekends in Muskoka, Tremblant, Greenwich, Michigan and Whitefish together.
