Shaun and I send our deepest condolences to you Doug and Charlene and all the family. Your father must have been a wonderful man and will sadly missed. Mr Gray obviously shared his love and compassion to have given the Hendry family Doug , the special man that he has been as a husband, step father and step-grandfather. Hold onto your memories.
Ruth, Suzanne and Doug, my heart is deeply saddened with the loss of your husband, father and my brother.
My thoughts and prayers are with you always.
My mind is now flooded with pleasant thoughts of our childhood and the times we spent in New Liskeard.
Of the Christmas of 1976 when he carried me down the stairs to the family dinner at mum and dad’s because I was unable to walk.
There are many, many more memories to share at a later time.

I really enjoyed my times with Tex over the years. My sincere condolences to Ruth, Suzzane and Doug.
Dear Ruth:
I was so saddened to hear of Mel’s passing. I was always struck by his thoughtfulness in looking after his own and his neighbours and you always felt that if you asked him he would do what he could for you.
My memory of Mel is one of a natural gentleman. When my husband and I walked to the end of our street to enjoy the Victories Day Fireworks one year – there was Mel and Ruth sitting on their lawn chairs enjoying the show. I tapped Mel on the shoulder to say hello and when he turned around and saw me standing there he immediately got up and asked me if I wanted a seat – his seat – that he brought down – for himself. I will always remember that act of a true gentleman. A gentle and thoughtful soul.
Much love to you and family Ruth.
Ruth, Sue and Doug
I am so sorry to hear of Mel’s passing. As you know I am very acquainted with grief right now, so I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I didn’t hear in time to join you.
Jon and I send our love.
