It is with great sadness we announce the death of Mary Edna Zimmerman, cherished wife, mother and Nana who passed away peacefully in her 93rd year on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at IOF Long Term Care Home in Barrie.

Loving wife of 74 years to Norman Zimmerman and devoted mother of four sons Robert (Cindy), Bruce (Janet), Brian (Carol Anne), and Richard (Fern). Cherished Nana to eleven Zimmerman grandchildren Ryan (Andrea), Sheldon (Robyn), Scott Zimmerman, Jason (Christine), Justin (Taryn), Stephanie (Brandon), Luke (Kayla), Nicholas, Adrian (Claudia), Alex (Stephanie), and Emily. Proud great grandmother ten times over to Ella, Harbour, Charlotte, Russell, Ruby, Eva, Brooke, Emmett, Raelynn, and Marshall.

Mary was born in Stanstead, Quebec, the fifth of eight children, and the first to be born in Canada. Mary was an excellent cook and often made great family dinners. She developed her skills as an accomplished painter when living in Palgrave. She also enjoyed gardening, curling, golf and winning at euchre.

Condolence from Dave Forfar on February 11th, 2022 10:21 am

Brian and Bruce
I am specifically mentioning both of you because we are friends. Ann and I were so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Although she lived a wonderful long life it is still difficult coming to terms with her leaving. Hopefully, the years ahead will be full of great memories and laughter thinking of her as the mother who loved you and who was loved in return. May the family come together and remember your mom as a great role model and mother. There will never be anyone else like her in your life but if she lives in your heart and mind then she will never die.
Dave and Ann Forfar

I extend my condolences to the Zimmerman family at their great loss of Mary Zimmerman.
I was their travel agent for many years. It was always such a joy booking Mary & Norman on their cruise adventures. I loved the banter between them whilst planning their trips. Mary made me laugh.
