To Marian’s family my sincere condolences. My husband Gordon is a resident of King Nursing Home on the second floor as Marian was. I am there almost every day and got well acquainted with her. She has not been comfortable lately and It was sad to see her going down hill .

I met and worked with Marion when I was in my teens and twenties so there was quite an age difference between us. I was inspired by her liveliness, her sense of humour and wonderful laugh, and her love for her family. To me she was another fine example of what getting older gracefully could be.
Forty years later I realize I am now the age she must have been when we met….not old at all, but wiser and in the prime of life.
Thank you for all the life lessons you taught me, Marion.

Condolence from Donna Stoyan Scott on January 25th, 2013 11:34 am

Mark, I remember your mother so vividly. My family moved to Kleinburg when I was in Grade 7, in 1961 and I guess that I met her when she was working in the drugstore. She was always so welcoming and willing to answer questions for a 12 year old. I even visited her at your house a time or two.
I saw her again years later, after I was married. She was the same gracious lady that I had met when I was younger.
My son, Peter Scott, then told me a few years back that he had met up with you, and thoughts of your mom came back to me.
My sincerest condolences for your loss.
