Graduated from University of Waterloo; Elementary school teacher, Peel Board of Education.

 

After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Lynn on Tuesday September 15, 2009.  She was at her home on Fairbank Farm in King Township, surrounded by family and her beautiful gardens.  Beloved wife and partner of Tom Dobson, loving mother of Diana Dobson and Wilf Luedke, Nanaimo; Kristine Dobson and Greg Alexander, Ottawa; Debra Dobson and Alf Budweth, Nobleton.  Stepmother of David and Sonja Dobson and their children Lisa and Abby, Chicago.  Very proud grandmother of Sarah, Anna, Madeline, Lauren and Olivia.  Survived by her caring mother Dorothy Harding.  Loving sister-in-law of Dana and Howard (deceased) Winder, Ed and Eleanor Dobson and Joan Harding; survived by her nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her father, Gordon Harding and brother, Ross Harding.  Lynn’s dynamic personality created many friendships in all aspects of her life.  She was a dedicated teacher with the Peel Board of Education.  Lynn was a gardener, volunteer to many organizations, skier, tennis player, hiker with her dog, golfer, enthusiastic traveler and adventurer.  Everything she did was done with vigour and enthusiasm.  The family is grateful for the excellent and compassionate medical care Lynn received from Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Yee, Toronto General Hospital and York Region community care workers.  The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Friday afternoon 3 – 5 and evening 7-9 o’clock.  A service to celebrate Lynn’s life will be held on Saturday morning, September 19th at 11 o’clock at Nobleton United Church, 6076 King Street, Nobleton.  A reception will follow at the Nobleton Community Hall.  Private family interment Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bolton.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 2M9 or the King Township Food Bank would be appreciated.  Condolences for the family may be offered at www.eganfuneralhome.com
