Condolence from Barb Evans on March 16th, 2023 4:04 pm

I am saddened to know of Lynda’s passing. Relieved, to some extent, that she is resting peacefully, having been through the awful struggle of the past few years. We met many years ago at BayThorn Public school as we started our journeys into education. I recall, with fondness , how her face lit up when she told me that she was engaged to Pat. The same smile of happiness was there when she found out that she was having her first baby, Chris. Lynda was beyond thrilled to complete her family with the birth of Jon. Across time, we lost touch, both being busy Moms and teachers. However, fate allowed us to reconnect at Jen and AJ’s wedding. When Lynda called me to share her devastating news, I was honoured that she took the time to do so. Rest in Peace, now, lovely lady. You touched so many of us with your warmth and caring. To Pat, Chris and Jon, I am grateful that my friend got to spend her lifetime with each of you. Thank you for loving her.

Condolence from Murray Stewart on March 19th, 2023 11:29 am

Dear Pat and Family
My warm condolences. Lynda is at rest and you Pat have been her rock. This is my third attempt to share my memories of Lynda’s warmth and grace with others. Because these comments are public ,I share a moment when selecting students to go abroad for a year with the Rotary Exchange Program . Lynda was one of three I had asked to help with the interviews .It was her ability to help the students relax and to share Motherly instincts so necessary for a student to have a positive experience ,that was so helpful and memorable.
May the memories of Lynda’s beautiful smile and grace be helpful as you face the future.
Blessings
Murray

Condolence from Trudy de Sa on March 19th, 2023 4:47 pm

Lynda was such a warm, caring person and I will miss her dearly. Although life intervened and we didn’t get to spend much time together we could always pick up with no difficulty. I have so many memories of us sharing good times during high school and I think of them often! She was a whirlwind of accomplishing things while I would still be thinking about them yet we connected very deeply. She was so young when she met Pat (just before she met me) but was always sure of her love. I am very happy that you two got so many good years together, and also that she was able to raise and enjoy her beautiful family which she loved so much! I am very thankful that I could see her before the end. My heart goes out to you all and my prayers are with you!

Condolence from Kristin Morrison on March 19th, 2023 10:44 pm

Lynda was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have ever known. I will never forget the time I was recovering from surgery and needed support at home. Lynda heard that my mom could not make it, so she showed up on my doorstep in Toronto at 9:00 a.m. with bags of groceries. She helped look after our infant son and made us a roast beef dinner before she left that evening!

Lynda gave so much of herself to many; she is an example to us all.

Pat, Chris, Jon and Family, my heart goes out to you.

I knew Lynda as a young special education teacher in the Dufferin Board of Education. Once a month she taught me and all the other Resource teachers how to help students with learning needs. By helping us she helped hundreds, and thousands of students to reach their potential. She was tireless in her quest to help children overcome learning obstacles. Lynda helped me and numerous other teachers become better teachers and share in her passion to help serve the hardest to serve with patience and respect. I’m sorry for your loss. I know that she loved her family fiercely, and that her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
