Louis

The family announces with deep sadness the passing of Louis on December 5, 2014, in his 78th year. Predeceased by his parents, Gervasio and Rachèle Pella, Louis leaves behind his wife, Barbara (née Brake), who loved him deeply, as well as his family of whom he was so proud: Diana and her husband the late Dr. Peter MacDougall, Lori and her husband Rob Quinlan, and son Jean. Cherished papa of Brennan (Kay), Zoë (Barry), Aidan, Maia and his four-legged buddy, Razor. He was the brother of Joe and uncle to many nieces and nephews, especially close to Rob who shared his many interests.

Louis was born in Toulouse, France. He came to Canada when he was 18 and soon met his wife-to-be, Barbara, and they have been together ever since. Retired for 20 years, Louis was passionate about bridge, bowling, hunting and fishing. His favorite place on earth was his cottage on Georgian Bay. He was a trusted and loyal friend to many. He was a wonderful dad. But most of all, Louis adored his grandchildren and they adored him. He will never be gone because he lives in every one of us.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon on Tuesday, December 16th at one o’clock. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at a later date.

Arrangements by Egan Funeral Home, Bolton (905-857-2213).

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Wallace McCain Centre for Pancreatic Cancer, Princess Margaret Hospital, https://pmhf3.akaraisin.com/Donation/Event/DonationInfo.aspx?seid=7809&mid=50

Condolence from David and Carole Foote on December 9th, 2014 1:04 pm

A good friend, like an awesome sunset, is hard to find and a treasure to hold.
For 44 years, Louis was just that, my next door Georgian Bay friend and neighbour.
All that was ever needed, were the words
“Lou I need some help.”
And he was there.
He will be deeply missed by all the members of the Foote family
Our condolences to the Pella family

Condolence from Marg Kennedy on December 17th, 2014 8:34 am

Oh Lori, my heart is broken for all of you. I loved how your dad embraced retirement after working so hard all his life. Whole new beginning. Playing bridge. Who knew? My one and only ATv ride was with your dad and I still see him in Florida walking his little dog in the evening. That is one lucky dog to be so loved.

You know how much family means to me and I have always admired a man who loves his family, makes the time for the little moments that we don’t even realize at the time are so precious, and who we know will always be there for us no matter what. That’s how I see your dad.

Your dad will never be gone, he lives in every one of you. His influence on his kids and his grandchildren will go on forever.

Love,
Margie
