It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda Diane Harris announce that she has taken her final flight home. Linda passed away at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 76 years old. Linda is survived by her husband Tim Harris, son Brett and his wife Stefani, and her ‘two very special grand-boys,’ Connor and Blake. Linda will be greatly missed by her two remaining siblings Carol Small (Darrell) and Glenn Worrell (Maureen) both of New Brunswick. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Helen Worrell, brother Larry Worrell and sister Annette (Rick) Saunders also from New Brunswick. Linda will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, close friends and especially by her dog Baillie.
Linda was born in Baillie, New Brunswick in 1946 and wrote in her high school year book that it was her dream to become a flight attendant. She moved to Ottawa after high school where she worked for the Federal Government. It was here that she applied to begin taking courses to achieve her dream. Linda flew for Air Canada for 38 years, flying internationally and completing multiple flights to Europe with her favourite being to Germany. She flew her last flight before retirement with Brett on board. Destination: Germany. Retirement found her travelling ‘up north’ to the cottage she and Tim built on Georgian Bay. For a person who said she did not want to cottage, she sure loved it especially in the most recent years realizing how peaceful, serene and safe it felt there. Ever the hostess, no one arrived at the cottage or to Linda’s home without having a glorious spread of snacks, a home-cooked meal and an array of beverages to pick from. Linda knew how to make everyone feel at home and like they were a part of the family.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 6 – 8 o’clock. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning, February 2 at 11 o’clock. Following interment at Morningside Cemetery, Palgrave, a reception will be held at Caesar’s Banquet Centre, 8841 George Bolton Pkwy, Bolton.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Headwaters Health Care Foundation, 100 Rolling Hills Drive, Orangeville L9W 4X9 or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 1200 – 2300 Yonge Street, Box 2414, Toronto M4P 1E4.

Thinking of you all during this incredibly difficult time. There are unfortunately no comforting words that will make this any easier. I’m so thankful for the memories that I have of Auntie Linda, a favourite “Mrs.Jones”. I’m not really sure how the term originated but I have many post cards and gifts from trips all over the globe that came from her. Auntie Linda was so thoughtful and kind. Please know that we are all thinking of you as you celebrate the life that she lived.

We loved hearing the many fascinating stories of her career life flying as a stewardess. She was an incredible woman.
She loved having her family around to also enjoy the cottage life.

Linda has left us with many fond memories of her sharing stories about back home in New Brunswick, to Her greeting us with her genuine personality.
We will miss seeing her walk up our driveway with Baillie and sitting down with us for a visit.
She will miss be greatly missed on Twelve Mile Bay, and we will continue to keep her and her sweet giggle in our memories.

For everyone who knew Linda, whether for a moment or a lifetime, the feelings were the same. Here was a unique person who genuinely cared.
Linda had a very generous heart and would always give of her time to anyone in need. Conversations were long and newsy, usually with a story from “back home” in New Brunswick.
We were very lucky to have lived beside Linda for many years, to raise our children together; our little crescent was truly one big family. She was Auntie Linda to all our children. They were the years well spent of laughter and love.
Our hearts are saddened today but our memories of Linda will live forever.

I remember some of her stories she told from her flights that would make you laugh or cringe but she was always the hostess with the mostest…whether it be in the air, on land or aboard Sirrah!

So very, very sorry for the loss of dear Linda (Grammie). She was so kind, caring, and a real gem of a lady. She would always make a point of coming over when I would be at your house and we would have a nice visit. I enjoyed hearing about her family from NB and growing up on the farm. I was so sad to hear that Linda has passed away. I always enjoyed flying with her and will miss seeing her at our reunions. She will be missed and remembered by so many and to the family, please know we share your grief. It was an honour knowing and working with such a lovely person.
So sorry to read about your families loss of Linda. She was a lovely person and colleague to know and work with at Air Canada. I flew with her to Europe quite often and it was always a pleasure. I joined the airline one year after Linda so we were of the same generation . Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Dear Brett and family. Please accept my condolences. Just reading about your mother tells me that she was quite the lady. So lovely that you were able to share her last flight on Air Canada. That has to be a special moment and memory. Although I never met your mother, I wish that I had.

Although I never met Linda in person, I heard so much about her, I feel like I know her well. What I do know is she was a wonderful Grandma to Connor and Blake, a loving and caring Mom and wife, and a tremendous host to all who visited.

My heartfelt condolences. Remembering Linda, always with her warm smile and her kindness. I will miss seeing her rain or shine every morning walking Baillie. As new neighbours Linda and I enjoyed exchanging our family stories with some similarities, especially when I visited N.B. St. Stevens. Her kindness and comfort when my husband was ill was truly appreciated and not forgotten.
