Peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, with friends and family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer, Liam Raymond Irwin, at the age of 32 years.  Liam went to KCSS, he spent his summer breaks working as a counselor for King day camps a job he loved. When we were shopping sometimes I would hear a child exclaim it’s Shaggy. Liam would stop what he was doing to go talk with them, he wanted the child to feel special.   Liam graduated from University of Guelph Ridgetown with an Associate Diploma in Agriculture.  He returned home to work the farm alongside his mother and uncle Rick. Liam loved the farm, especially the animals . The vet referred to him as the cow whisperer.  Liam born on February 26, 1992 is predeceased by his grandfathers Jim Connell and Robert Irwin. A cherished son of Kathleen and Bruce. Brother of Thomas. Loving grandson of Helen and Sylvia. Nephew of Rick (Ann), Janice (Terry), David (Elke). Cousin of Kirk, Mark, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Patrick. He was a devoted friend to too many to name here. Liam will be remembered for his warmth and compassion. His sense of humor will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Friday, April 5 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 o’clock.

Gone too soon. My deepest condolences to the Irwin family and close friends of Liam. I will always remember him as a kind, happy classmate during all of grade school and high school, and an active member of the King community. We worked together at King Day Camp and he was one of the most beloved councellors by all the kids. I’ll always remember our Grade 12 grad trip in Punta Cana, Liam insisted on sleeping out on a pool chair under the stars. Rest in Peace Liam.

I am so saddened to hear about Liam’s passing. Liam was a great friend growing up. A fun loving guy, and a kind soul, I don’t think he had a bad word to say about anyone. He had a great gentleness about him. One of the most unique people I have ever met in my life; a long haired, shorts-wearing, ozzy ozbourne loving hippy. He was a great advocate for agriculture, everybody in school knew how much he loved cows, and no one was surprised that he was going off to agriculture school. Having made my own way back to our farm, I wish that we had had the opportunity to work together one day. Liam had THE BEST birthday parties growing up. They set a very high bar. Snowmobiling, hay mazes, cap guns, staying up all night watching Southpark and playing grand theft auto. Pancakes and bacon in the morning. Great memories. I am glad that I got to know Liam, he will be missed.

My condolences to the family.

I met Liam at KCSS, and although we haven’t met up afterwards, he has left an impression on me. Liam only had good vibes and knew how to make everyone laugh during our Comm Tech class. I can only imagine that my conversations with Liam would have been great and just as hilarious if I had reached out.

I am so sorry that we lost Liam. He was such a great person, and because of that, he will be in a good place where he will watch over you all.
