Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, on Wednesday, April 27, 2005, after a long and determined battle with cancer, Lena McMullin, Orangeville, in her 86th year, beloved and devoted wife of the late Ivor McMullin (1991). ᅠDearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Jim and Jean McMullin, Caledon East; Norman and Jeanette McMullin, Erin. ᅠCherished grandmother of Lisa McMullin; Courtney, Christopher and Taylor McMullin; great-grandmother of Chyauna Francis. ᅠPredeceased by grandson Steven McMullin. ᅠLena will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Jean Simpson, brother-in-law George and his wife Yvonne McMullin, sister-in-law Dorothy McMullin and sister-in-law Beatrice Willmott. ᅠPredeceased by brothers Charles Willmott, Edwin Willmott, James and wife Helen Willmott and sisters Gladys and husband Thomas Roberts; Daisy and husband William Featherstonhaugh; brother-in-law Russell Simpson, sister-in-law Norma and husband Ron Fludder and brother-in-law Russell McMullin. ᅠShe will also be fondly missed by her many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. ᅠLena moved to Caledon East after her marriage to Ivor, her husband of 49 years. ᅠShe worked tirelessly beside Ivor throughout their marriage, first on the family farm and later as his most dedicated supporter during his years in local and provincial politics. ᅠThe family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter and Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630), Monday afternoon 2-4 and evening 7-9 o’clock. ᅠFuneral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 3 at one o’clock. ᅠInterment of cremated remains in the family plot at Caledon East Public Cemetery. ᅠAs expressions of sympathy donations to Headwaters Health Care Centre Foundation, 100 Rolling Hills Drive, Orangeville L9W 4X9; Canadian Cancer Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 175 Bloor Street East, Suite 700 North Tower, Toronto ᅠM4W 3R8 would be appreciated by the family. ᅠEastern Star service will be held Monday evening at 8:30 o’clock. ᅠCondolences for the family may be offered at www.eganfuneralhome.com
