Larry passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in his 62nd year. He is survived by his loving wife Joy and sons Graham and Peter (Keri). Larry was the beloved son of Ken (predeceased) and Diane Uniac and son in law of Ivan and Genevieve Walden (predeceased) all of Stratford. Brother of David and Mark (Gail) and brother-in-law of Mark and Sue Walden, Tom and Nora Walden, Dale and Joanne Walden. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 4th from 1 – 4 pm at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 5th from 2 – 5 pm at the Caledon Ski Club – West Lodge, 17431 Mississauga Road, Caledon. Dress casually, just like Larry would have.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Bethell Hospice Foundation (bethellhospice.org) or The ABLE Network (theablenetwork.ca)

Larry loved spending time with his family and friends at the cottage in Georgian Bay. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, curling, any project (especially building decks). Larry added to the ‘fabric of life’ in every situation and his love for life and laughter was contagious. Larry had a successful career in Marketing and Advertising which culminated in his most recent position as Senior Project Manager /Producer at Spark44 where he especially loved his colleagues and the positive energizing atmosphere. As Jimmy Buffet says “It’s been a lovely cruise”

Special thanks to Dr. Brian Kessell, Dr. Laura Harild and the medical staff at the Trillium Hospital network for their exceptional care and support during Larry’s illness

Joy and Family. I was very sorry to hear about Larry . We had a lot of fun together when we were kids. We always got together when my family would go back to Stratford. I would always ask about you guys the last couple of years when I would bring my mother ,his Uncle Frank back to Stratford to have lunch with Dianne , Shirley, Bill and Dinny. It hurts me that I could not make the party even more now. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Larry was one of a kind!!! He was strong, courageous, humble. A gracious host to friends, family and strangers whenever anyone stopped by the cottage always with a cold beer ready. He was a hands on fixer-upper and builder. With his tools and knowledge, you can see his many talents all over your beautiful cottage in Cognashene. Hello Joy, Graham, and Peter,

I wanted to send you and your family my condolences about Larry’s passing. My parents, Brian and Grace, had told me about Larry and I was sorry to hear the sudden news.

Last evening, I was speaking with my parents and we were trading fond memories about growing-up and times spend together at St. James, Scouts and just hanging out together over the years. It had been a very long time since we have seen each other, especially since I saw Graham and Peter.

The last time that I saw Graham, I was still living in Toronto and we ran into each other unexpectedly. But, it was really good to see him.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Kind regards,
Philip

First of all we want to send our sincere condolences to Joy and their children and family. I had the pleasure of being Larry’s roommate during our first year of university at Western Ontario.
We developed a close friendship, Larry was a genuine soul with a wonderful sense of humor.
Although we had lost touch over the years we had reconnected in 2017.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to meet up in person.
Larry l just wanted to let you know that Liz and I will have a drink in your honor later in June when we finally make Manitoulin island our permanent home. R. I. P. Larry
You will be missed.
Your friends
Liz and Don
