Thomas Web

It is with extreme sadness and regret that I find myself without my dearest wife Laureine who passed away on April 13.  Laureine and I have been married for over 65 years and have raised 6 children, Jim (Kathy), Anne-Marie, David (deceased), Dan (Nathalie), John (Andrea) and Lea-Anne Barker (Brian).  I did not recognize the full extent of her influence on them, their character, drive, warmth, dedication, and friendliness. People you enjoy being with.  These past few weeks listening to them talk about their interactions with their mother over the years was in fact a revelation to the extent that her counselling and inspiration to do their best in all their endeavors has served them well in their own lives and has lifted the family spirit.  This was amply illustrated by the collective effort in helping us move to our new home and helping me through this time of tribulation with the passing of Laureine.  I thank God for this and look forward with optimism to a continuation of a high spirited and happy family in the future.

A truly amazing woman and even more impressive loving and caring mother. Having gone back to school, graduating with honors, and then working in the Member of Parliament’s office as the liaison between Ottawa and the constituency, her main focus always remained her family, husband and children. And to that end she helped create a loving and caring bond each share with the other and their families. A job well done by a mom second to none.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday from 4 to 7pm.  Funeral Mass will be held in St. Padre Pio Church, 5500 Major Mackenzie Drive West, Kleinburg on Friday morning, April 28 at 10:30 am.

Interment Woodland Cemetery, 119 Arlington Blvd., Kitchener.

Jim, Kathy & Family
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Jim’s mom. The loving way in which Jim always spoke of his parents was absolutely heart-warming. Your touching words about Laureine underscore what a wonderful mother and grandmother she was, and what a positive and loving influence she was on her family. Our condolences go to you on the loss of a clearly remarkable woman.

Dear Stu and family:

It is with great sadness to hear of your dear Laureine’s passing. She was an amazing KW Symphony Volunteer and a fellow Probus member and bridge player . I could count on Laureine to volunteer for our House and Garden Tours and Symphony fundraiser Card Parties. She was always so gracious, meticulous and so kind. You are so lucky to have met this dear lady. You are in my prayers.
