It is with the deepest Sympathy I extent to Edna and family. There is no heart that could ever be prepared for a sorrow like this. I know, as my wife, Sharon passed away suddenly in November 2018. I can not image how you feel.
I worked with Kirk at #22 Division C.I.B. when I first was promoted to the rank of Detective. We both retired at the same time in 2004. Kirk was most respected by all that worked with him and for him. He was a great guy and will be missed.

My name is Carolyn Clark Jameson and I am Kirk’s big sister. I was 5 years old and it was Christmas time 1951. I was waiting at the front door for Mom and Dad to come home with my new baby brother. In they walked carrying the most precious bundle of joy. From the moment I laid eyes on him I loved him with all my heart. God had certainly blessed me with a Christmas present that would last a lifetime and beyond. We lived a wonderful life. never losing the closeness that continued over the years. Kirk was the most wonderful brother to me, there was no greater. He was my brother, protector, confident and times with him were the happiest and most fun experiences of my life. I will love him as long as I live, please god take loving care of him. xo

I just found out about Kirk.
As you know Kirk, Gary Briggs, and I were roommates in the 1980s.
It was the best time of my life.

Gary was killed in a car accident in 1982.

I have just started a battle with cancer and driving to my sisters place in Newmarket to recover.

It was just 2 hours ago I said to myself that it looks like Kirk will be the last surviving amigo.

I just got an email about Kirk and I am sitting here in a Newmarket parking lot bawling my eyes out.

Memories of being motorcycle cops at 1T and then 23 Division have come flooding back.

Kirk was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He always treated people decently and had a great sense of humour. It is with a tear in my eye and emptiness inside that I am writing this,

Kirk, the paths in life are many and to pick the right one is very hard
and even harder to follow.
What if the path taken isn’t the right one? Do you get to change?
What if you never find the right one?
How would affect our self as well as that of all the other contacts and events in our lives?

We were lucky. The first pick was the right and only pick we made.

I was thinking, it seems not so long ago, (about 47 years 4 months Ha. Ha).
We were working at the Kipling Ave. Canadian Tire pumping gas.
We got talking and the conversation, somehow, went to the topic of the
Toronto Police Department.
We told each other about having thought of applying. We thought about it for a while.
You said, “Do you want to apply, we can do it together?”

We went to HQ 590 Jarvis, applied, got hired and sworn in as Cadets, you 19, me 20,
the rest is now history. Overall in the general scheme of things, the path we took was
the right one. Getting it on the first try was exceptional. I think that if you were here, that we would say, we would not change a thing that we had done(pretty sure.) Except for me crashing your brand new motorcycle.

I don’t even want to think about where we would have ended up if we hadn’t done what we did, when we did it.

The loss to those that new him and to those he could have met cannot be measured,
but to you Edna, the loss to you will always be the greatest.

PS.
Kirk, I am not a religious person, but if there is a crossover when we leave this earth and
you are not there to greet me, I WILL hunt you down, find you, shake your hand, then go
for a beer like we did at the old Sir Robert Peel Pub.

Our sincere sympathy to the Clark Family. My name is Donna Horwood (Harper) and I grew up living across the street from Kirk. This is back when our families lived on Netherly Drive in Etobicoke. Many of us living in the neighbourhood “hung around” together during our early teens. Some of those friends I’m still close with today & have shared the sad news of Kirk’s passing. My husband was also a Toronto Police officer for 32 years and although they never worked together they did know of each other. Reading about Kirk’s passing leaves me with a very sad feeling but also has brought back many fond memories of all of us growing up together on Netherly. Our condolences to all your family. I first met Kirk when we were teenagers growing up in Rexdale. He and his family lived across the street from our house.
We both joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force as cadets, Kirk first and then me a year later. In retrospect, I believe it may have been Kirk, that put the thought of joining in my head in the first place.
I had the good fortune of being assigned to 23 & 22 Divisions, where (even though on different platoons), I would have the pleasure of meeting with Kirk.
He was a kind, caring and compassionate man and a great officer, (but you know that already).
