I will miss you my friend you were always very respectful of me and we got along from day one in the fire service when we met at station 73 my heart is with you and I hope you find peace my friend

Ken was always a joy when he visited the fire administration office. He was such a sweet man. Ken will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the entire family for your loss. One of my favourite memories is the time he made a skating rink on the river down in the park. He made the day so special, lighting a fire and serving us hot chocolate.

Sad to hear this news, Our condolences to the entire Sanderson family. As one of Al and Christine’s good friends of over 50 plus years, you always made us feel welcome on your home and family. We all went to school together and as friends stand in touch as much as possible. I will remember Ken and Lois as a great, kind and funny couple. You will be missed, but not forgotten.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family.. Lois you will remember me. I grew up in Kleinburg for 20 years and you lived next to my cousin Marjorie. I was over to Kleinburg on Oct, 15 th and drove past your home. Ken will be missed. Sorry for your loss.

Sincerest condolences to the Sanderson family. Always looked forward to crossing paths with Ken & Lois while living in Kleinburg. Ken always had time for a chat and would volunteer at the Kline House when I was looking after the schedule. Last summer Barb Sweet passed along some of her Binder Twine Festival collection including a series of slides from 1983 when the Festival committee handed out the original Binder Twine Medals. Ken was one of the recipients and attached is a photo of him.

God bless. I worked with Ken over the years. A true firefighter with a wicked strong handshake. We built the field support unit together with so many of his ideas. So proud and I am honoured to have walked along side this giant. His values for what he loved doing also reflects on his family values. Thanks Ken and your family for always being there. I am so sorry to read of the passing of your husband and father. I was Bernice King – daughter of Marie and Gord King. I remember many days playing with Donna in the sand box and sliding down the basement stairs of your home. My family home is gone and a new one replaces it on Napier St. That was the last time in Kleinburg. Mom is in a nursing home in Owen Sound now. My prayers are with you and happy thoughts are for my 20 years on Napier St.

I am sorry to hear about Ken’s passing. My late husband, Gary Price, worked with Ken building the rehab truck when we lived in Maple. Gary spoke highly of him and considered him a good friend.

Mr. and Mrs. Sanderson were our good-natured neighbours when we, the Bevans. lived across the street in the Old School House in Kleinburg, with our houseful of people and all those animals, inside and out. He found it amusing, at first at least, when our geese would clear the low fence to get to puddles in front of their place. Their house was always a welcoming place and I was glad to get to know Ken and Lois as adults when I returned for Bindertwine. He was a good man, and he will be missed.

To the entire Sanderson Family, I was so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. We lived on Napier St. for 32 years and always saw Ken and Lois around town, at BinderTwine, at the post office, etc. My husband was born in Lancashire but Ken was born in Yorkshire so there was a running joke about which county was nicer, more beautiful. I used to tease them both saying that they both had to come to Canada to find their wives. Ken had a good sense of humour and was a lovely man.
I will miss seeing his smiling face.

My association with Ken and Lois began when they so generously and lovingly cared for my infant son Scott ( now 45 years of age ) when I returned to the workforce. I couldn’t have found a more welcoming home for him. May your memories of Ken sustain you during the days ahead.
