Kathy McWilliams passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021 surrounded by family.

Kathy was born July 21, 1959 in Bathurst, NB to Norman and Vera Smith (Price).

She married John McWilliams the love of her life on April 23, 1977.

She was the beloved mother of Jennifer (Lee), Sandra, Nancy (Jason) and Colin (Samantha) and grandmother to Isabelle, Nolan, Landon, Michael, Madeline, Samuel and Ryan, with an eighth on the way, and she loved them all with her whole heart.

Kathy was happiest when surrounded by her large and close-knit family.

She was a strong, professional woman, ahead of her time in so many ways and of unquestionable integrity. She balanced her considerable professional success as President of a trucking company with her role as a loving wife, mother, sister, doting grandmother, and caring dependable friend to many.

Her infectious laughter -the way she made sure everyone was always included- the unconditional love for all of her family and her tremendous work-ethic are the indelible legacy she leaves behind.

Her love for children was truly remarkable – one of her favourite places to be was at Jack Lake, sitting under the falls or on the dock, smiling as she watched the kids play flashlight tag or cheering on the next new skier.

Indeed, Kathy gave her undivided attention to her children and grandchildren and listened with interest and excitement to each of their stories, accomplishments and challenges.  She was selfless and always supportive, inspiring all to be the biggest and best versions of themselves they could possibly be.

Kathy was a cherished sister (and sister-in law) to her predeceased brother Reggie (Maureen), Carolyn (Germain), Keith (Carol), Lane (predeceased) and Joan (Bill).

Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will take place on Friday, November 26th. Burial will be held shortly thereafter Friday, November 26th  approximately 1:00pm  at Pine Hills Cemetery at 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, ON M1K 1R1.  All are welcome at the burial ceremony.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Cancer Canada
