Dear Lawrie, Jamie, Adam, Kimberley and the little one Kalyn, and all the sisters and brother in laws. It is a sad time and hard to believe. We have lost a great lady who touched our lives in many ways. Joy was a dear friend and I will miss not having her a phone call away to just catch up and laugh about the old times and happy moments in her life. I will hold all our memories close.

My love and thoughts are with all of you.

Every morning, when I’d be walking my dog, I’d greet Joy if she was sitting outside. She always had a smile on her face. She was a very courageous and great woman. Our street will miss her dearly. My sincerest condolensces to her family.

Joy was always very special to me, we were friends in high school and beyond, up until our late 20’s were always in touch, lost touch in the last years, i think the last time I saw her was probable 10 years ago, but she had and always will have a special place in my heart, My sister organized a surprise 25th birthday party for me, and Joy was the best for keeping the secret and delivering me to the party without knowing a think about it, will always miss you, but Joy will leave on in my heart, had great times with her @ Honey Harbor, Bye Joy, will alway love you!

Laurie, I am so sorry to hear about Joy. Gary’s and my thoughts are with you and the family. With the cousins being so spread out It is sad that many of us only get to see each other for occasions like this. Hopefully the next time we are back east we will get to see you in happier times.

Condolence from Sandra & Chris Smith on June 14th, 2012 7:49 pm

Joy, you weren’t just our travel agent, but our friend. And though we kept in touch by email after your diagnosis, I didn’t learn of your passing till today, a few months after my last email went unanswered. Just to let you know, we’ll be in Nassau next month and in your favourite location, sitting at the pool bar (lol), we’ll raise a glass (or two) in your honour. Our condolences to your husband, daughter and grandbaby that made the fight all the more worthwhile because of your love for them. Something she told me many times. We’ll see you again in our travels.. our friend.
