I am very sad for the family of Joy and George Deathe. These two wonderful people were two of the kindest, happiest and most positive people I have ever known. I cannot recall either uttering anything negative about anyone. They were as close to the perfect pair as I believe you could find and it was a real honour to have their acquaintance. That Joy passed away about 2 weeks after George adds to the tragic nature of this event. My sincere condolences, and my prayers and thoughts will be with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family once again, now with Joy’s passing. I am so grateful that I got to speak with her briefly at George’s funeral. Unfortunately I won’t be able to come to the funeral home to pay my respects to your family but I sure am with you in my thoughts. I guess they just couldn’t live without each other and they are together again.

Condolence from The Digby family, Cambridge UK on November 28th, 2016 12:11 pm

Don, Randall and family, you are all very much in our thoughts at this sad time. We treasure the visit we had with George and Joy in September, when both of them were engaging and bright. Its difficult to reconcile their passing when only a few weeks ago we were sitting at their dining table, enjoying their company. Having cared for George as she did, we hoped that Joy would have the chance to resume her interests and activities outside the home. We are sure that the love and support of your family and friends will be a great help as you come to terms with your loss.

Condolence from Susan Sweet on November 28th, 2016 6:25 pm

My condolences to Don, Betty and Bruce, and the whole family on the loss of Joy. I am so glad I had an opportunity to speak with Joy at George’s funeral. We three spent many, many years in various choirs , in church and in the community, and at countless church functions, where Joy always said she knew the name of every plate, which passed through the kitchen at those times. Both George and Joy were always so kind and I remember their helpful and kind actions, and time spent with my mother, Dorothy. There are two more angels in that heavenly choir now-and the music will continue. My love to you all
Susan Sweet

Condolence from Arie and Margaretha van Walraven on December 18th, 2016 10:16 am

We were shocked to hear only last evening (Sat. Dec. 17th) of Joy’s death. We are so glad, then, to have been able to share a warm hug, as was her way, with Joy at George’s visitation. I had sent her a letter shortly thereafter and, as Joy was always so prompt to reply to any correspondence, was somewhat surprised that we hadn’t yet heard back from her, with her usual wonderfully written and interesting long letters, which were always enjoyable to read. As Joy has always been one reliable and industrious worker for any event, it seemed a shock that she will no longer be with us and has left a void. We always found Joy to be so “with it” and knowledgeable in current events, and admired her for her dedication to George, her family and friends. She will be missed by many people. But also much remembered for her humour, strength and warmth towards everyone she met. With tears and affection, Margaretha, and Arie van Walraven and Christine, Michelle and Peter.
