At Southlake Health Hospital, Newmarket, on Monday, March 9, 2026, Josephat “Joe” Thebeau passed surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Robin (née Brown). Loving father of Katherine (Katie) and her husband Steven Taylor, Christine, and William (Billy). Cherished and proud poppa of Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Henry.

Joe was born on September 8, 1951 in St. Ignace, New Brunswick to Joseph and Delphine (née Richard) Thebeau. Dear brother of Hubert and Yvonne (both deceased), Melina and Charles Roy (both deceased), Elzear (deceased) and Maria, Emile, Pierre and Margerite (both deceased), Marie Louise and Alyre (deceased) Richard, Robert and Lynn (deceased), Delphin and Irma (deceased), Noella and Telex (deceased) Guimond, Patricia (deceased) and Desire Thibodeau, Theodore (deceased) and Jeanette, Amand and Elianne. Dear son-in-law of Lillian Jean Brown (née Wilkie). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his many friends from golf, the gym, the Knights of Columbus, and bonfires.

The family will receive their friends and family at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen St. S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 6 – 8 o’clock. Funeral Mass with cremated remains present will be held in St. Mary’s Mission Church, 190 Mactaggart Drive, Nobleton on Friday morning, March 13 at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow in the church hall.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Mission Church, 190 Mactaggart Drive, Nobleton L0G 1N0. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Dear Robin and family
Our deepest condolences. Uncle Joe will always be remembered as a favorite at all those family reunions and visits to NB. Evertime I ever saw him he always had a big smile or a big laugh and having fun. I always looked forward to talking with him.
