Suddenly on Saturday, April 23, 2016, John, in his 59th year. Beloved father of Sandra O’Brien. Dear son of the late Jack and Kathrine Finnerty. Nephew of the late Frank Finnerty. Loving brother of Margaret and Nick Colapinto, Mary and Victor Horan, Theresa Jackson and John Moore, Jim and Judi Finnerty, Barb and Dean Mason, and Pat Finnerty (deceased). Admired uncle of Darrell, Kimberly, Michael, Cynthia, Nicole, Lori, Kelly, Becky, Megan, Connor, and Jacklyn. Cherished great-uncle of Cameryn, Cole, Annalisa, Michael, Jocelyn, Nicholas, Jack, and Declan.

The family will receive their friends for a Celebration of Life at Woodington Lake Golf Club, 7110 4th Line, Tottenham, on Saturday, May 14 from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing , Margaret, Mary, Theresa, Barb and Jim and Family’s,, John was a good friend to Dave back in the day and certainly helped us out on more than one occasion, with a trailer to store all our worldly goods in when we embarked on yet another move. Keep him in your hearts with happy thoughts and he will always be with you. My love and thoughts are with you all.

Words can’t express the sorrow we feel. We are so sorry for your loss. When we lost John it’s like we lost a family member too. You couldn’t have ask for a better Freind than John. We have so many wonderful memories of John. We will certainly miss his visits and phone calls. Our lives will never be the same, but we were very blessed to have him for our Friend.

John and I shared some great me ories and times together, he was the only one who let me ride his motorcycle without any experiences. Wendy and I met John this year in Florida and became friends, meeting every Tuesday for Tacos and Sunday for breakfast and a ride. We really enjoyed John’s company and were looking forward to spending more time with him when he returned from Florida. I was john’s Grade eight teacher many years ago at Palgrave School. I remember a handsome confident boy who knew even then what he wanted to do in life and it is sad that it was cut so short.
