Condolence from George Leighton on March 19th, 2024 3:41 pm

My heart felt condolences to the family.
I will never forget working on the farm with grand ma and her sister in the green houses .
I enjoyed the hard work and Joey teaching me to drive the tractor to plow the fields until I hit his truck with the discer trying to avoid hitting his big German Shepard dog. OOOPS.
I remember him making me ride home in the back of his truck because I smelled like rotten onions because grandma stuffed them in my t shirt.
I really did not like shovelling coal in the giant furnace, but he told me it built character….yeah.
He was a good man.

We will miss Joey being such a pillar of our families. So many good memories of both Joey and Bernice. Rick and I enjoyed everyone stopping by to check up on us here at our shops too. Joey was always the the one we would stop what we were doing, to go sit with, and catch up. We have been blessed to have such an amazing patriarch all these years. He will be missed by so many within the community, but sorely missed by all of us.

Condolence from Nancy Hopkinson on April 2nd, 2024 11:22 pm

Joe Tasca was a very friendly guy that we often saw at the Nobleton Plaza selling tickets for Lions’ Club activities. When Susan Beharriell pointed out that the Township was looking to name its community park, my husband Alan suggested Tasca Park. Both Joe and his wife Bernice were so involved in community activities. I contacted the Women’s Institute and the Lions Club and those groups agreed that it was a great choice to have Tasca Park. We all wrote letters to the township and the rest, as they say, is history. Joe always supported Nobleton United Church’s fundraiser dinner (I have attached a couple of pictures). Joe was upset that the Township would consider removing the heritage designation on the Nobleton Community Hall. He helped to get a letter written opposing the demolition of this worthy building and invited others to sign it. his efforts helped to save the Hall. He was relieved to hear the recent news that the Hall was saved.
