Joseph, I am truly saddened by your passing! If I may reflect back, to our childhood, growing up in Toronto, where you lived on Montrose, I lived on Beatrice, our streets separated by a laneway, the back alley. How memorable it was, the limitless energy, playing, having fun, creating games, because our parents really didn’t have a budget to buy us toys. We really did make the best of what we had. Our journey continued, when our parents decided to move to Malton, where we would spent our teenage years. Memorable was your Black Camaro in the winter, no heater, freezing, fighting the cold, again we made the best of it, when we often went out. Of course my story is an excerpt of the early years, you did touched so many. Joe, we will greatly miss you! You will live in our memory forever! My sincerest condolences to your lovely family, your wife Lisa, your children Justin and Andre. Oreste & Natasha

He would always tell my little guy that “Uncle Joe” would be there when he gets drafted….well Joe if it happens we know you will be there with us.

Dear Lisa, Justin and Andre, our hearts and love go out to you with deepest sympathy. I’ve just finished praying for you that God’s comforting love will surround you and His gracious voice will speak to you. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” My wife Jan and I, indeed our church in town, will sorely miss Joe when we frequent the restaurant. Grace and peace to you.

Joe has always been the kindest, friendliest and most generous person. No matter who, Joe always made a person feel like he was the most important person around. His humour and his intelligent conversation was surpassed only by Joe’s faith. Personally, I have missed him at the restaurant. Now, I am truly saddened by the news of his passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences and prayer for Joe’s family. Without a doubt, he shares in God’s life, in joy and in peace today. I’m sorry that I cannot attend the funeral or visitation, dealing with my own family’s health issues. G.A.Dolak
My deepest sympathy to Joe’s family and co-workers at Tom’s Restaurant. I visited the restaurant many times over the past 15 years and Joe was always so friendly and kind and went above and beyond to make myself and my friends feel comfortable. Sometimes he would even surprise us with something extra that we did not order. I know he will be watching over the restaurant and keeping an eye on all his “visitors”. My thoughts are with the family on this day of the funeral.
Dear Lisa and family

It was with great sadness that we learned of Joe’s passing. Joe was “one of a kind” and he will be in our hearts forever. We often shared stories with Joe while consuming huge breakfasts prepared by him.
Although he will be greatly missed by many people, we are relieved that he is no longer suffering. He put up a long and courageous battle!

I’m deeply saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. I had the pleasure of sitting with him at the diner many times chatting about many things. My family and I made it a point to go to the diner at least once a month. Joe and I shared the same illness and talking to him helped me get through it. Thank you Joe for being there to talk to on many Sunday mornings. I am not suprised to see all of these kind words about Joe. You truly were a genuine nice guy. We will truly miss you Joe. Our deepest sympathies to the family.
