I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jodie. I treasure the moments we had with you in July and will always remember her courage and optimism. Despite her pain, her thoughts were of her family. I had the pleasure of working with Jodie for a few years when she was in the Optometric field. She was such a positive person and how could you not smile back with those amazing dimples? My heart goes out to the Family and Friends. She was an amazing person.

Even though Jodi and I did not see each other for years, I remember her as a vibrant beautiful person! I was very saddened to hear about the news but I’m sure she is in a better place! My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Southcombe family!

I also had the pleasure of working with Jodie when both of us were in the Optometry field. I will cherish our time together and memories especially during Halloween when Jodie would always ask me for any clothes I may have from the 70’s. Especially the wide bell bottoms which were of the American Flag. My condolences to the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Jodie, and came to rely on her enthusiasm, and positive spirit. Her bright smile was contagious, and the strength shown in battling with her illness was an inspiration for others. My thoughts go out to her family and loved ones.

I as well had the pleasure of working with Jodie for the past 6 years and was also a personal friend of hers for the past 8 years! Jodie was an inspirational hard working person with a very positive and fun-filled attitude. My condolences to the family in this very difficult time!

Jodie and I worked together many years back at an optometry clinic. It’s amazing how certain people you just never forget no matter how much time has passed. Jodie had such an infectious personality, she was so friendly. I can’t imagine the battle she must have fought over the last year. I’m truly sorry to hear of her passing, such a loss to everyone. My thoughts are with all those who are closest to her.

Jodie was indeed a real bright spot in my visits to the Calgary Office from the Field. She would always break away to find a place for me to sit and work while visiting (get working you know). She was a motivation to us in the Apache Office and I will always remember the video she helped with during the Calgary Run.

Jodie will forever remain one of the kindest, sweetest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. From the moment we met in high school, to our most recent contact, she has been a true inspiration, a gem. She has left an incredible legacy to those that love her.

Jody and I were childhood friends and as life progressed we lost contact until the wonderful tool of Facebook. It’s been great to follow her and her happy life of family and friends. Jody was always a beautiful person inside and out. It breaks my heart that she isn’t awake anymore, but that beautiful, happy, peaceful smile will remain in our heads until she wakes up from her sleep.

Amid all the sadness and sense of deep loss that Jodie’s family is suffering through I hope they all know they are a long way from being alone. There were so many things about that I admired and I was so proud to be able to call her my friend. I was fortunate to meet Jodie about 4-5 years back and got to spend time with her. Jodie was always so kind and put others before her and was a big part of the Calgary community helping with a variety of charities. It was exciting to see her talk about her love of sports (NFL in particular) and you could always catch her running by Memorial/Eau Claire which would always make her happy.

I was so sorry to read of the loss of your daughter, Jodie. Although I didn’t know her it is obvious from the many condolences that she was a wonderful woman and loved by many. When I think of Jodi, I go all the way back to her time in my Grade 2 classroom. She was the embodiment of the ideal student and child way back then and that never changed!! Norm, Carol and Family,
Jodie was very special for many people. I will greatly miss her smile, tactful but direct questions, focus, dedication, love of purple, joy in planning charity and corporate events, and most important, her caring for others. I learned a great deal from her. My thoughts are with you.

Jodie was one of my first friends in Calgary, and someone who was always a calming presence. She made my first St. Patrick’s Day (my favourite day) in Calgary, very special. No more suffering, but gone way too soon 🙁
