I was so saddened, and rather shocked to learn of Janet’s passing, just when she was about to embark on a new chapter of her life, one I had hoped she would thoroughly enjoy. Janet and I became acquaintances 55 years ago today when we both acted as bridesmaids at the marriage between her brother Spencer and my sister Joan. But over the years we developed a fast friendship , became travelling companions and shared the love of quilting. She was an artist in terms of any kind of handwork. I was totally shocked and saddened to hear of Janet’s passing today. We had just sat together at the St. Jo’s Alumni Luncheon in June and then again with our “Cottage Crew” in July. I was the lucky recipient of her beautiful handiwork many times on her visits to the cottage . I so treasure these gifts. We so always enjoyed her wonderful tales of Gordie , Janice and their families. The Grandchildren were the apple of her eye! Janet you will be dearly missed.

I think Art and Janet adopted our whole family. We all lived in the same house on Quebec Avenue in Toronto. (1961-1965) This lasted until we had too many kids between us.
All these years Janet has been a devoted friend and we always kept in touch.

I was so saddened to hear about Janet’s passing last week. We had such wonderful times at Georgian Bay on our nurse friends get together and of course our residence days too.
