July 28, 1947 – July 3, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Margaret Pace (née Christian), who died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital after a 2½-year battle with dementia. She was born in Toronto in 1947.
Janet loved her family and friends more than anything else. She found joy in line dancing and in word and number puzzles, especially Sudoku. She delighted in walking great distances, and although she disliked gardening, she took great satisfaction in pulling weeds.
Her parents, who passed in the 1990s, and her sister, Susan (Susie) Christian, who passed last year, were often in her thoughts, especially in her final years.
Janet is survived by her children Ian (Adrienne), Andrew (Susan), and Matthew (Tanya); her beloved grandchildren Rachel, Sarah, Justin, and Madison; her brother John (Patti); and her nephew Robert and niece Katherine. She also adored her granddogs Penny, Oscar, Stan Lee, Piper, and Indy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (alzheimer.ca).
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Saturday, July 12 for a memorial reception from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Words of remembrance will be at 12 p.m.
